I've noticed every pro 1/10 driver uses direct bullet connectors. Now in 1/8, I see deans used a lot and bullets less. Is there a reason to not use direct bullets in 1/8?
I assume the only reason racers use bullets is for less weight. Never raced, but I see that at the races here too. EC5 is the way to go. Nice bullets, but in an easy to use housing
I suspect it is more an old-school thing. Back in the day it was Tamiya plugs and bullets. I remember smoking a few Tamiya plugs because they were terrible after you upgraded beyond their capability. So the other option was bullets. That was before LiPo, which started life with mostly Deans plugs. So bullets, then Deans, then XT, and now EC. Next we will likely have wireless technology lol.
the reason a racer will use a bullet plug is they think they can pull more amps thru a 4/5mm bullet than a xt 90..we will never have truly wireless tech we are not tesla

I think its just the guys that are running lipos that have the bullet connectors right inside the hard pack. Its mostly 2S lipos that come that way and thats why you see them so much in 1/10 but not so much in 1/8.
