Looking good! Your off to a good start.
The stock tires on the Defender are actually pretty good. But if you want new Rims, I would suggest looking at Injora for tires. I added the light kit and lower crawler gearing to mine. It is pretty top heavy due to the body. Great looking rig though.
I was wondering if adding a little weight would help as well? I haven't done enough testing with this stock Defender and the thing I'm trying to build...but I already know I want to get some upgrades and I'll also get a Bronco to add to it at some point (or another 1/18th scale crawler)
This exact pair showed up at my door today and it was exactly what I needed, thx for the suggestion.A wood rasp file would work pretty good. The more knarly the teeth, the better.
