Looking good! Your off to a good start.

The stock tires on the Defender are actually pretty good. But if you want new Rims, I would suggest looking at Injora for tires. I added the light kit and lower crawler gearing to mine. It is pretty top heavy due to the body. Great looking rig though.

I was wondering if adding a little weight would help as well? I haven't done enough testing with this stock Defender and the thing I'm trying to build...but I already know I want to get some upgrades and I'll also get a Bronco to add to it at some point (or another 1/18th scale crawler)

A wood rasp file would work pretty good. The more knarly the teeth, the better.

This exact pair showed up at my door today and it was exactly what I needed, thx for the suggestion.

Did a little more testing this evening...I also built up a few more walls today but the pictures don't really show those. A few observations as I tested it out with both my TRX4 Hightrail and the TRX4M Defender:

  • The structure I am building handles the RC weight test with ease.
  • The Hightrail handled this thing with pretty much ease at almost every angle.
  • The structure I'm building is going to be a challenge for any 1/18 truck I think...but in a good way.
  • I need to 100% do a lot of shaping and roughing of the structure to get grip. I ran the file over a few spots I wasn't able to get any traction, and it made a lot of difference.
  • The Defender needs some low, front-end weight to climb any decent incline. The motor also was a little jumpy.
  • I LOVE them both
Upgrades incoming!!!

Added a rockslide to the front and put some paver sand in various areas to "cement" them in a little bit. It will look better once the sand settles from a few wetting sessions

added some plants in the background as well
@Lostinthewoods86 - see? This is how it's done 😉

Looking awesome man! I see you brought in some jungle themed foilage items! Goes well with the whole voodoo island shrunken head theme 😅

You need a scary tunnel path on it somewhere

I’ve been watching 😂

The more of your property you turn into an RC playground, the less grass you have to cut.
I've already got a pretty small grass area and a VERY large area of trees/shrubs and a ton of just pine straw...so the ideas are flowing, and the wife is scared lol

If you do the yard work, she has no say 🤣
