Hey guys, so as I go into more upgrades, and probably the last ones, I wrongly received a set of 59mm nexx racing reservoir shocks. As soon as I installed them the front driveshaft popped out. I have both injora links and driveshafts. Is there a trick to use 59mm shocks or am I stock with 53’s?
Any help is appreciated.

I would have to assume you'll need the longer front driveshaft from the other Ascent18 platforms to compensate for the geometry change.

This is what I have on my Apex and I had to cut a significant amount of length off to get it to fit.

Metal front shaft

Thanks for sharing, so you have the 59mm shocks?

I am using the stock shocks on my Apex18. Suspension tuning as for the shocks and oil is the one thing I have left alone so far.

My overall point was if you install longer shocks, it's going to change the geometry of the suspension.

This, now fully extended suspension is most likely why the driveshaft will no longer stay together.

The Ascent Apex18 is designed to be extreme forward weight bias with an aggressive skid angle and very specific front link geometry.

My thought for solving the issue would be to measure what you need and cross reference the other models.

I personally would grab a plastic front shaft for a regular Ascent 18 and see if it fits your new stance. If it does than it's safe to say you can order a metal one.

You'll have to check at full compression and extension to see if things are binding or contacting.
