I couldn't quite read the end of the tag on the winshield.

I don't know anything about these trucks but I looked it up quick... Looks like you got a great deal too! Nice!
I'm rather impressed so far. Driving it will be the real test. I made an adapter so I can run 1 of my 2s batteries as well. Getting all my stuff together and it's off to the woods. Been a minute since I have been this excited about getting out and about. My dislike of crowds and cold weather has made the last several months pretty rough. I hope today's adventure is a massive success...it will be worth every penny of what I picked it up for at that point.

If I were going to pick up a new Axial, the Cayote would be my choice. Looks like you've got a lot of fun ahead of you. :thumbs-up:
Yes sir! Fun indeed. I was out for hours, got in probably 3+ miles of walking in the woods. Great for me physically and mentally. Great for the dog too.
Worst part of the experience....I have removed 3 ticks from the dog since we got back.
Negatives on functionality of the crawler. It could use more unsprung low weight to help with the side angle roll over. The drag brake is not instant, there is a small amount of roll when you stop on an incline after releasing the throttle.
It performed amazingly well for a stock vehicle, and I broke nothing.

Fun is what it's all about! I don't get out enough, but getting out in the fresh air is a great way to refresh the soul. :)
My faster vehicles are fun but with caveats. They are fast enough I am best to go to the track to use them. I am terrible at timing things correctly so the correct track is available for the car I showed up with. I am not a fan of crowds....the track is often a crowded place.
This is something I was able to do within a 10 minute ride from the house, gets me back out in the woods even though I can't really hunt anymore, and I probably encountered 1 person per mile which is just fine. Feeling like a major win for me!

Last night I added some performance....stickers, I added stickers covering up some of the gold. Today I got a measurement of where it breaks on the side. Looks like about 46-47deg of tilt is what it will tolerate at a complete stand still in the living room.

Does anyone who owns this same Coyote rig use it for comps? I have taken note that over the next couple months it looks like there are 4 or 5 with multiple class competitions at the lhs using the outdoor course. After watching videos, and reading the sorrca rules it looks like out of the box these are close to being class 2 legal. Not quite competitive I imagine, but close to legal. Registration is cheap enough I might have to try it even just for the experience.

Really, really good review. Only the good stuff....Like: this is how it drives out of the box. and it drives just fine. no mention of the box or the clear film or the little piece of black foam....Just the rig and how it crawls. None of the it could have been a better color or no bead locks or why not brushless. I appreciate that you presented the rig and showed how it crawled the way it comes. brilliant!
