I just got my O.S CV-RX running the other day. It has about a half gallon through it. Compression is still good. Has a Hardcore cooling head and this is on a XXX-nt Drake.

I went up to the mountains the other day and i figured i had to re-tune because of less oxygen. So I did... kinda. I richened up both needles and now I'm totally lost.

When i start it the mill runs fine. After i heat it up though, its a different story. After i go WOT then come back down to idle (like if I'm breaking), the engine will only run for about 1 second then die. Then if i try to start it up while hot it wont start till it cools down.

Also, can someone tell me that damn fuel line pinching technique... i used to know it but its DAMN tricky to learn for me... it just doesn't stick.

Thanks in Advance.

first - the pinch test. pinch the fuel line about an inch from the carb, it should take about 2-5 seconds at idle for the engine to stall. more, and the LSN is rich, less, and its lean. There is a MUCH BETTER way to test the LSN though. Let the car idle for about 5 seconds, then gun it. if it jumps right off the line, its perfect, if it stutters for a second, then its too rich, and if it just quits, its too lean.
--------
have u checked the temp of the engine? usually when it stalls while coming off throttle its too lean, and the reason its stalling is because no fuel is getting into the carb when u get off power. this would also explain the hard to restart problem, as it will cause the mill to over heat, and the number one cause for tough restarts is over heating.
---------
Anyway - u really need to check the temp of the engine before u can be sure of what i said, if u have no temp gun, just use the spit test, as it will at least give a general guide.

OK, NA got you started. But there's one thing you went backwards on. If you go to a higher elevation, it rarifies the air. That means there's less air in your air/fuel mix. This essentially richens the mix. So to compensate, LEAN your needles just a little. That should help.

Wow... i love you guys. I tried the techniques... immediatly ai noticed the difference. It was like POW right off the line. It was insane, i was doing wheelies... I had to lighten up the slipper clutch to keep it in control. This baby rips now, I'm so happy i asked for help...

Thanks...
