First ever custom Holloween costume. For my boy of course.

Oh it would be cool to use some nice lead based paint like Alien said ....I used to eat a lot of paint chips as a kid and it never affec......voice trails off and wanders away.....

I would recommend Lacquer. If you soak the foam in it, it will actually stay very warm for a few days while it cures. Should be perfect for a chilly night. He'll also enjoy that "new car" smell.
At the end of the night, he won't care if he has any candy. As a matter of fact, he won't even care if you leave him out on the lawn overnight.

LOL! You guys are messed up :) I just finished drawing the face. It looks like my boys nose will be at the perfect position for Spongebobs nose so I'm working on making a foam nose for him to wear.

Spongebob looks weird without a nose. Besides, my drawing skills aren't the greatest. Thank goodness for lots of rounds things around the house. :)

Really cool, can't wait to see it all finished up, you might want to rig up some fans for air circulation, just a idea...

That is sweet Lessen... that is going to be the coolest costume on the block!

Very cool Josh! Your daughter doing to be Gary?

Dude! We couldn't possibly think more the same! I wanted to do that but it would have been crazy complicated, plus this one is costing enough. That foam is waaay more expensive than I thought it would be. Oh well, I don't care. Chase is loving it but Gary isn't gonna happen, although it would be cute as all get out. :)

Oh yeah, no doubt. Kim is really excited about it too. I painted the nose to see how it would take and it looks pretty good. I've been plucking the exterior to give it some spongy texture and it's looking awesome. I'm probably going to do some more carving with the Dremel to give the face more depth but it's looking really good so far.

When i read your title i thought you was dressing your boy as a Shamwow......lol
