Did you set the needles to factory? Usually, factory settings for most engines is flush on both/all needles, with about .5mm width opening at idle (remove air filter and look down the intake, the gap should be about the thickness of a credit card). Those settings should get it to fire up, maybe a bit on the rich side.
If it still loads up and dies, try leaning the master needle just about 1/8th of a turn, until you can make a high speed pass with a noticeable blue smoke trail.
From there, to set the low needle (if it needs to be adjusted), let the truck idle for the count of 5, then punch the throttle. It should hesitate for a moment then take off.
If you have a hard time getting it to start, don't be afraid to up the idle point to about 15% or so. Just enough to make it run a hair above idle.
As soon as it starts, lower the idle point back down.
