I thought I saw this in a square shape but this was my idea for your bus flex joint.
No idea if it can be heated and shaped though.
 
This might work but the corners and might be to rigid when it takes the corner

If you cut that into two sides and a top, you could connect them back together by gluing a cloth backer behind them. Or even cover the whole thing on the outside with cloth and just use the AC window fillers as support to maintain the shape.

I'd go with cloth on the outside, and just use a few 10mm or so strips of the pleated plastic to maintain the shape.
 
You gotta at least find a hood ornament. I always liked the Monopoly boot, but any of these should do nicely 😁
