Hi all,
I am thinking of getting a large RC for camera platform. Currently, i have slash and stempede 4x4 trucks with some upgraded parts, but i think it's still too small.

I need something that can carry a big load like a Canon R6II with a prime lens, and FPV gears (2-3 kg).

I don't need fast truck, in fact, i am looking for something with lot of torque, and go slowly and smoothly.
I might buy whatever available, and change the pinion gear as well.
will most likely remove the body, and replace with some camera platform for taking some cools videos and pictures of places that's hard to get to on foot.
I will put an FPV system on as well.

here is my old one:

please give me some advice.
thanks

That's awesome!

I would look at a crawler. I am not sure if you're looking for a kit or an RTR but there are a lot of options out there.

Traxxas TRX4 Sport is a robust cost effective option. I am not familiar with it personally but an Axial Basecamp would be another option.

That's the direction I would go if the body is just going to be removed anyway, why pay extra for a nice one.

GL!

Thanks CreepyQuarryCrawler and Chetah928, and WickedFog.

At first i was looking at Arrma 1/5 Kraton 8s, and changing gears, almost bought it but it's Out of Stock anywhere (Lucky me )

After reading your posts, i am very much set at the Axial SCX6 :)
It is exactly what i need :)

Looks like the body is ready tough, and i may not need to fab one for my need.
now the debate between 2 bodies:

Jeep JLU Wrangler or Trail Honcho body?

the jeep has more surface, but i can mount accessories in the back of the Honcho.

So graceful to be on the RCT forums and get some sound advice.
thank you so much.

Also this video clears any doubt about its ability to do what I need :)

haha, those are cool. If I were a pro. videographer, I would, but I am just an amateur looking for some cool shots :)

This axial SCX6 comes with some falken wildpeak tires,
and the funny thing is that i was just debating to get either
BFGoodrich KO3 vs. Falken Wildpeak AT4W
for my rig, and in the end i chose the BFGoodrich KO3 295/75R16 :)

i strapped my camera to the roof of the crossrc bison for this video., it works well is large and stable. I've also put a phone on my redcat which has a very small anvil body, i just bungied it on behind the cab/ anything 10th scale will work for a phone, but i dont know how big that camera you wanna mount is

Is that a Tonka body shell? I had that as a kid in the 70s! Lol
