Hey I'm building a 427 AC Cobra and I need help with scale painting. Do you have any tips to make the paint look almost exactly like real car paint i want it to look like metallic blue but i also want it to have a level of depth that appears on late 60s cars

There should be some metallic paint that color. The depth you are referring to back then was usually a heavy clear coat. Your lexan bidy will do that for you.

But if you want a good candy blue I'd use an airbrush. I'd grab some Createx Candy blue and spray that first. Then some bleed checker. Then a clear coat with a bit of retarder in it to sly the drying. Then while still wet, throw some very fine metal flake at it from across the room. Then back it with a bright metallic silver.

I hope we get pics when you're done....it's a beautiful car. I spent some time looking at pics of the real thing....man do I wish we still made cars with style like that!!
Don't worry, I will be posting images when complete and yeah, car designs really fell off. i was actually talking about it today with the new century designs for the SUV
