Wondering why "not for children under 14 years old" ?

If they raised the speed limit to 100, there would be a lot less congestion, less pollution, far fewer accidents, and people would get to work on time. But we can't do that. It would make way too much sense.

I agree, but capacity is still capacity, and it would still be 12mph for me. When I need to be at the office during rush hour, I stick to local roads. Much less frustrating for me. What would help is getting rid of all the commute and toll lanes. During rush hour, 1/3 of the freeway I use is drastically underutilized. 0900 hits and traffic starts moving like magic.

They have WAAAY too much stupidity going on here. None of the traffic lights are timed. In fact you typically stop at EVERYONE! They are also dong road diets (removing usable lanes) to make it harder to drive, create congestion, and slow people down. Adding humps on residential roads. They are eliminating right turn on red. Removing the safety triangles at the corners and making pedestrians walk in front of cars. ... The list goes on. All in the name of "safety by slowing people down." It does nothing but create frustration and make me want to drive faster.

You know what slows me down? This guy.

Half of ours for some reason are on sensors instead of timers during peak hours, then the ones that should be on sensors aren't during off peak hours. Nothing like sitting at an intersection for 2 minutes trying to make a left turn and there's no traffic.

There is one street that I know of that works (used to) correctly. Believe it or not it's in San Francisco of all places. Unless it's completely jammed you could make it the length of 19th ave in about 5 min doing 35mph. Every light would be green. If you drive too fast or too slow, you got red lights.

That's ideal. It rewards people following the rules and punishes those that speed or are too stupid to drive.

The problem here isn't the signal lights, it's the other drivers. They either want to go double the limit or half the limit. I think only about 1/3 are even close to the limit. So when your doing 55 in a 50 zone, and your approaching slower traffic and begin breaking, because all three lanes in front of you are doing 40 for no apparent reason, and you have the guy doing 75 scream up on your tail, and dive out from behind you at the last possible second then swerve in front of you just to slam on his brakes because there is no where to go.

Rinse and repeat, same stupidity all the way to work, every day. 🤷‍♂️

It's like that here in the Bay Area too. A bunch of self absorbed clueless drivers. Speed limits are a suggestion. It's either full Mustang or be a road boulder. We actually have people that will drive in front of you if they feel like you are going too fast. It's called Lane Patrol.

Not in LA though, I love driving there. Very little lane hopping, everyone picks a lane and stays there. Your in LA traffic where are you going to go? We all on the same mission.

If the traffic is light, it's 80 mph bumper to bumper NASCAR style. Fries in the ash tray, burger on the dash, a cigarette in one hand and a cell phone in the other. Yes, you did the math right, they drive with their feet. If you need to move over, do it, don't be a wuss, commit and they will let you in. But if you don't go they will hunt you down and shoot you in the face.

Aha, yeah the batteries might be in large part the reason for the "this is not a toy" warning. All you need is some kid shorting out a LiPo battery as an "experiment".

Batteries are my assumption. I'm a father of 4 boys under 13. I can say with full certainty that they scare the crap out of me with lipos.
I started young but lipos weren't a thing. I also started with nitro so.... eh.

This is why but in my defense it's illegal in Idaho but 10 blocks from me in Oregon it's legal. :D

This video is why whenever I bash with buddies we always stand close together so we don’t absolutely destroy the other guy. I’ve still been close tho.

This was several years back and was the best day I've had in a long time.
Unfortunately Doug, the guy in the video, my friend and my sisters boy friend fell and broke his back a year ago
and didn't survive intensive care. He passed away a month later.
This video will always be special to me for that reason.
