How careful should I be driving in cold weather? Looks like mid 30’s here on Saturday. And mid 20’s on Sunday. Is this too cold for hitting some jumps in a short grass field? I’m just concerned about plastic becoming brittle and breaking.

Yep. Plan on breaking stuff. And more easily the colder it gets. We drive our Kraton in the snow, but never any jumping or anything that could cause a cartwheel.

But there is an easy solution. Get you some SCX24's for some indoor fun. Everybody needs at least 10 SCX24's in their stable 😁

And they are a blast to hopup.

There ya go again. Putting ideas in my head and now I won’t be able to get them out 😃

You might as well get it over with 😁

Minis are a blast. A little more challenging to work on because of the small M1.4 screws. But they can be used anywhere. There are so many hopups for the SCX24 out there, you can build them into just about anything you want.

Others like the 18th scale Traxxas TRX4M and the FMS Accent 18 are some other great ones to look at. The FMS Smasher is really cool too if you want to build a monster truck and do some indoor bashing.

WARNING:
Mini RC's can cause you to fall down a rabbit hole with no bottom in it. Most of them are fairly capable stock. But for me, anymore, I just build them from parts. I usually end up replacing everything on them anyway. Not that they really need much. It's just an addiction I can't quit. i bet I have enough stock parts to build 3 or 4 of them now 😅

Yesterday I been wanting another mini car to run inside lol. Like a GROM or lc racing

I like the look of some of the itty-bitty RCs, but having held them, I can't see myself enjoying working on them. My old RC18MT is all the mini I need.
The tiny hardware is a deal-breaker for me unfortunately. 1/10 scale hardware is where I like to be. 🤣

It definitely takes dexterity and finesse when working on the mini stuff. Try holding onto an M1.4 nut and trying to get it on a screw. It's like thrying to thread a needle with your eyes closed sometimes. I use my needlenose pliers and tweezers all the time. I also magnetize a little flat file to hold nuts in place til I get a couple threads going in.

One of my hands goes on strike sometimes. Nerve issues.
It would become a source of frustration I'm afraid.
If I felt better about micro hardware, there was a guy on the tube building r/c matchbox cars... 🤣
I thought it would be nice to fulfill that childhood fantasy. 😎
