Tell Jeremy I said hi.

$150 for the trailer?! That thing better have a servo controlled jack, lights, turn signals, spare tire, toolbox with at least a can of Fix-a-Flat, and a scale beer cooler strapped somewhere.
Yeah they proud of the trailer 🙄 I don’t know about that yet, may come up with something else on that

Well how much is the boat without battery and charger?

Closest shop is 2 hrs away, so mainly online. But the guys at the shop (and @WickedFog will likely agree 😁) are super awesome and if we happen to be in the area I will give them what business I can. They do quite a bit for their area from what I see. If I were in the market for a rtr Traxxas or arrma, I would make the trip to go buy from them.

Edit: ha I may be going to see them soon 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been waiting for this to come out.

I saw that on Insta. Looks pretty sick 👍

Do most of you guys have local hobby shops nearby? Does anyone shop strictly online?
I shop online. No local shop.
There's one about an hour north or south, both at tracks.
The hobby shop at the one I plan to run at is open 2 days a week anyway.
I hear they have good deals. I intend to TRY to spend some money there and give support locally.
Simple facts, Jennys is WAY cheaper than any shop and its shipped here to me.
My Optima is older than most of the guys working at hobby shops.
Trying to find OG Kyosho parts for it in a hobby shop isnt realistic.
Ebay and a few others. Its about supply for me, pricing is an unfortunate reality too. 😉

Bearings, tires etc... I can still buy this kind of stuff at a shop.

When I was young, hobby shops were THE places I wanted to be!
New gear and kits every weekend new, just built and waiting for me to buy NOW!!!! 🤣
I LOVED looking at the bodies and tires and wheels, scheming my next ultra fast track killer builds!!!
I dunno how it is for kids now but I feel like I want to support THIS for new ppl now too. Maybe some lucky kid falls in love like I did.

I sometimes go to the Traxxas store in McKinney (25 miles), TX. There are some hobby shops in the Dallas area, but I shop online most often.

That’s awesome. The first hobby shop I ever went to was back in the 80s. I was 13 and begged my mother to take me. When we pulled up, it looked like an old neglected house nearly ready to be condemned. With a makeshift awning and a small sign above it with the name of the shop. Definitely shady. But once I walked in, I was shocked to see that it was huge inside. Everything was brand new, including the paint and lights. It smelled like fresh carpentry work. And there were shelves upon shelves of different RC vehicles, both in assembled form and in boxes. All kinds of different radios and tires and decals. They had it all.

My mother actually said to the guy that this place was quite deceiving from the outside. I remember hearing him tell her that they’ve been renovating for the last six months and the outside is the last thing they have to do. They were working on getting inventory and making the inside presentable and appealing. Good memories.

I guess thats really what I am paying for at the hobby shop... memories!
Cool story!
I've been to a few "hobby shops" that were just shacks, converted garage, home basement. Lol!
Def some shade! 🤣

with 3800kv id only use 3s. Might have to gear down or keep an eye on the motor and esc temps just in case.

CNHL and SMC lipos are my personal favorite. Also used amazon zeee/hoovo batteries and they are ok for the price. @Greywolf74 is our battery guru

Question time:
The MT10 I have on the way has the Castle Copperhead 3800 KV brushless motor/esc combo. Should I use 3S or 4S LiPo’s?

And which LiPo brands do you recommend? My MT10 has an IC5 connector set.
3s

Scratch that.. 3s.. why the hell would they option that thing with a 3800?!?

Really….. the ONE TIME my “ninja edit” doesn’t auto merge…🙄

on that high of a kv motor though? 🤔 🤷‍♂️
No.

Speed

I seen the copperhead series used in SCTs at the track and they fly so thats why they offer them in a high kv. 3s should be fine. But if for 4s id go <3000kv.

Probably because I posted right after you replied initially 🤪

Ok so 3s it is. Are IC5 connector’s on LiPo’s common/easy to come by?
Yea. They are pretty popular.
Note the IC is spektrum's term for their smart technology. The normal plug is EC5 which IC and EC plugs can work together and vise versa
