If that were an ET.. 😉
Thanks for thinking of us bruthaman!!🤙🍻
No problem man. I’ve seen TYPHON’s that are being sold for more than this… And they aren’t even CLOSE to this buggy lol.. There were three or four guys that asked-I couldn’t remember all of them individually lol..

Agreed. Not dissing the Typhon but there really is no comparison. Every time I go from a basher to Tekno my mind is blown.. I still gotta get my ST410 dialed a bit better though. Hard to keep the rear end in line, keeps washing out both on/off throttle. Not complaing, still a missle, just thinking it could be better. Tires are a big part me thinks.. I just got myself spread too thin right now. The track is dry, I'm seeing what you and I have previously discussed regarding pin size/density. There are some areas where the larger knobbies help with loose dirt, but the clean spots not so much..

That’s pretty sweet 👍

Tekno’s are 1/8 scale?
This one is. The majority of what they do is, but they do have a couple 1/10 as well. Just nothing 2wd. They never will either.

Throw some toe in at the rear, and lighten the rear diff. 😉 Could also go lighter on the rear swaybar. Glad to hear what I was eluding to with tires/your surface making sense!

They have a couple 1/10 also, SCT and ET. I mentioned having an ST410, which is just my imagination. It's actually an SCT410.3 with a pick up body and wheel extensions running 1/8 buggy tires. It's a great platform though, fairly light, agile and surprisingly durable. Quality is amazing to me, I haven't touched a diff or replaced anything aside from broken parts from crashing. I built it for about $550. I can't imagine a Slash Ultimate would be anywhere near as good for the money, I might be biased though.

Have thought about removing the rear sway bar, see what effect that has.. I'll start with the options that are free, LOL. Then I can start swapping pills in the C,D blocks.. thanks brutha!🍻

Also 1/10 buggy; EB410’s.. 😉

And yessir-sway bar will be the easiest, but also the least aggressive effect.. If it’s both on, AND off power-any of the three I mentioned will help for sure. Starting with a lighter bar first is the smartest, as it’s the easiest to do. Then toe using pills/blocks. Lastly of course would be lightening the rear diff fluid. This is usually what works best for me as I have a heavy trigger finger, and drive them hard. Tekno’s love to be over driven-you just want the setup to help that out some on occasion. 🤘🍻

I hear ya! There really are soo many options, LOL. I'm sure someone will chime in and say the K6s is only a few bucks more than the K4s (or O4s), and they're right. Tough call.. the K6 is more durable overall I would agree, but running both on 4s, the plastic chassis 4s truck is definitely faster than the 6s truck. There are many upgrades out there for the 6s, not nearly as many for the 4s.. but, I would argue that some people aren't going to need the upgrades to enjoy these rc's. I honestly have spent very little on upgrades to any of my 15 rigs. Different strokes for different folks.
Agreed, and I'm the same... I don't upgrade just because, only if I'm having an issue. Most of my models are 95% stock.

The 6s Kagama is a beast as well, and you can get it for $420 shipped, with a decent 185A ESC and 2050kV motor.

The one I got from my neighbor is impressive in terms of build quality. I think it compares better to the Tekno line than it does to the Arrma/Traxxas models. I've only run it briefly and only on 4s, but it's quick even on that battery.

My Kronos XTR has been great, haven't had to touch a diff since I got it, well aside from the drive cups. I think they had a bad batch or something, mine wore really fast. TC warranted them with the spring steel units, been great since. I think the TC rigs run faster stock than Arrma or TRX, IDK if it's the diff gear ratio or aggressive programming in the esc's, but it's really noticable. So much so that my brother won't run his TC rigs on 6s, always gets in over his head and crashes. Arrma and Traxxas he runs 6s, TC, nope.. keep in mind we're running on a track that is literally covered with trees. Too much power will get ya eventually!!🤣
Can you spot a tree here?😜

That track looks sick 👍 Which state are you in?

NY, near Albany.

Thanks😁 Still much to be done, but being able to rip/race at home is priceless.
Priceless is right. We’re gonna start at some local school yards , fields and parking lots. We have a nice new running track at the high school nearby. And there’s an old vacant middle school with lots of space to tear it up. Not as good as a track but not bad for beginners. I’m in MA.

I had a dentist appointment this morning. And on the way back , I decided to take the scenic route which passes right by the hobby shop coincidentally 😀

I found out they have a small , packed dirt bash area out back. Must be to test out cars. So after chatting a bit with the guy , he took me out back and let me drive a Stampede 4x4 VXL. What a blast! That truck packs a punch. Much faster than I was expecting. Lots of fun. I didn’t wanna leave. So now I want one , obviously. I’m just surprised it comes with plastic Ultra shocks. I was figuring on aluminum but apparently not. Bummer. But they could always be replaced.

Now I’m back at work but my head never left the hobby shop. They also had a Rustler 4x4 Ultimate on display. I love the look of that truck. I think that’s the one for me. I want every vehicle now. I need to settle down.

Intoxicating ain't it!! The 3s 1/10 have quite a bit of giddyup!!😁:cool::thumbs-up:

And a 6s 1/8 is about the same but larger!!

In the good part of Mass, right? 🤣
Southern Maine here.
Sounds like a great place to run!

LOL!!! NEVER underestimate a manufacturers "room for upgrades". Plastic shocks is nothing! Wait til you're replacing entire chassis! 🤣
Spend a little more upfront to get more usually is the case but ALWAYS be on the look out for things like this.
Sometimes factory "upgrades" fail too.
Kyosho Platinum shocks weren't great compared to the gold shocks that they "upgrade" The gold shocks are fantastic!. This is an old example but still holds true.
The hobby shop has YOUR picture on the entrance door to that track out back, huh??? 🤣🤣🤣

I love reading your excitement aabout all this! I felt the same way watching stock Hornets, Frogs and Grasshoppers run around a tiny indoor track at Weir's Beach when I was a kid.
There was NO going back!!!

Welcome to the club!!! 👍🏻

Those old school RC’s you mentioned were the ones that had me drooling back in 1987/88. It was my first glimpse into hobby-grade RC’s. I remember obsessing over the 1987 RC Car Action Buyer’s Guide. Now my son is at the same age I was back then. I didn’t have any male father figures around back then so it’s very important that I’m always there for my kids as a dad. This RC hobby we can share together.

I saw this morning that my son has a Traxxas Maxx on his iPhone as the background. And actually thought to myself.”That’s not a bad idea!”. 🤣
