I hear ya! There really are soo many options, LOL. I'm sure someone will chime in and say the K6s is only a few bucks more than the K4s (or O4s), and they're right. Tough call.. the K6 is more durable overall I would agree, but running both on 4s, the plastic chassis 4s truck is definitely faster than the 6s truck. There are many upgrades out there for the 6s, not nearly as many for the 4s.. but, I would argue that some people aren't going to need the upgrades to enjoy these rc's. I honestly have spent very little on upgrades to any of my 15 rigs. Different strokes for different folks.

I've not heard much good about the Arrma 4s stuff. In fact, @Greywolf74 has mentioned on a few occasions how bad the 4S Kraton is that he has. I've not been too impressed with the 3s line either. I would personally look elsewhere for 3S and 4S stuff. Tekno. Yup. Or even Traxxas if I were looking at RTR. Losi and Associated have some things I would look at too.

I have thought about this one a bit more though, and for $800, I'd still get the Kraton 6S over anything. If you were wanting something a bit nicer, and could toss a little bit more $ at it, you could find a good deal on a used slider ftom Tekno, Kyosho, Associated, whatever. Strip it down and rebuild it, then get what you could for electronics. Would be a fun project, and a nice RC in the end.

All while the rest of us have to work for a living.. life's just not fair!! LOL. I'm sub'd to his YT channel, amazing stuff, I've never tried any of it.. too expensive. I imagine EVERY outing equals broken parts. Must be nice.

Me either. Unless just used in moderation. But who can do that?? 😄

IKR! Love his antics! So wild! The Notorious & Typhon are his go to. 💥

I bet he has a shrine of chassis forming a new mountain in Hawaii!

I've used these for cleaning & work well. Wipe down any excess with a dry cloth after. Orange Textured Wipes

I definitely can't argue with someone who has the K4 and doesn't like it, but also can't argue with how well the K4 took a beat down in the above video.. I'm aware the 4s Arrma's are still using plastic pivot balls, which sucks balls, but that's a cheap fix.
BTW, anyone seen that TC is coming out with a Kagama and Punisher 4s?

The K6 and K8 are light years better than the K4. The one in that video may have taken a lot of abuse, but how much does it have on it in the way of hop ups? I ask because the first day out with mine, it only survived 3 jumps before I had to figure out why the transmission was making such a god awful racket. The other thing I don't like about the K4 is, when running it in grass, if you even look at it sideways it will roll over. I have other similar sized RCs that do not suffer from that problem. I even put some hex extenders and truggy wheels on it, hoping to improve that particular problem. Nope. Still rolls over on a whim. It's nothing like its two bigger brothers because it's not really designed the same. In fact, I'm not really sure why they called it a Kraton.

Rookie question time :
1) Does the Sledge and Kraton each take 2 LiPo battery packs?
The kraton is set up to use two 3S packs. That being said, it is possible to run a single 6S pack if you can find one that will fit in a battery tray. The Sledge I have no idea.

2) Can the Hota D6 Pro charger charge 2 LiPo’s at once?
Yes

Yes
The 6S Kraton isn't bad on 4S either.

Like I said, you have/had one, so can't argue with your experiences. ✌️
What version did you have? I've heard the v1's were really bad. The RCDUDE vid shared above is bone stock, as delivered from Armma according to RCDUDE81. I thought it performed amazingly, but I also don't own one. The rollover in grass tendency sounds like tires gripping too much?

I run a single 6s pack in my Kraton & Notorious & they fit just fine. No mods. No special battery. I have two 3s packs, & stacked they are actually bigger together than a single 6s pack. I have hardcase & softcase in both.
Yeah, either the Sludge or Kraton can run a single 6s brick, the Arrma fits a 6000mah brick without issue. The Sludge may be more limited by design. Seems I've heard of folks modifying them to use straps instead of the latch mechanism..

The 6S Kraton isn't bad on 4S either.
I run 4s pretty regularly in my 6s rigs on my track. Plenty fast enough to crash into trees with, LOL. IDK what Corally has going on, but the TC rigs on 4s are just fire compared to Arrma or Traxxas. Way faster. I've been experimenting with the Erevo 2.0 on 4s. 6s is just too much for the suspension, gets squirrelly, destroys tires.. stock gearing in it is 15/54, I'm currently running 20/46 on race tires, no motor fan. Max6 w/stock Vilenion 2200kv. Pretty decent, could probably go up another tooth or two on the pinion, but that will need a motor fan I'd imagine.

Honestly, I don't know what version it is. I bought it used back in 2020 or 2021. I thought that it might be getting too much grip too, but I put truggy tires on it that just has small pins and even with that and 10mm hex extenders it just rolls over. Other similar sized rigs I own also have fairly aggressive tire tread patterns on them, and it doesn't roll like that. The K6 has a more aggressive tread pattern on it than the K4, and it doesn't suffer from that issue either.

How does the weight compare between the 4 and 6s? Maybe the 4s is too light? I think the v2 or 2.5 came out in 2022, not exactly sure. Regardless, I have the 6s EXB roller, great truck. TBH, at this point I probably wouldn't bother with a K4s myself, more interested in the race rigs these days. Though I still have the itch for an XRT, I also think a 5ive T brushless would be pretty sweet. Given the state of the economy, I'll be lucky to keep what I have running..

I wouldn't imagine you'd be interested in going back to a K4s, but FWIW I did find a spec change from v1 to v2 that should increase stability. The v1 had a width of 395mm, v2 450mm.. pretty substantial, but also means the 4s is pretty darned close to 6s in size..

Been doing it over 35yrs, and often find that REbuilds are just as fun, if not more so… and the money saved…. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit man… Because I’m gonna dump all kinds of aftermarket/more factory parts into any NEW kit too…🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t support Horizon/Tower for a multitude of reasons… it’s literally never NOT been some straight up bullshiit with EVERY transaction with them since the merge… And HERE in NC-they take absolutely foreverrrrrrrrrr to get me my stuff..

I deal with a very specific few vendors/sites, and then Amain only if everyone ELSE is out of something, or for tires. They’re tough to boycott when it comes to tires/wheels… I was a platinum member with them for YEARS, and I bet I don’t spend a TENTH of what I used to there any longer..

I stick to:

Fierce RC Solutions
Beach RC
RC1-Racing
Absolute Hobbyz
Woodland Hobbies
Bones Motorsports
NitroPro
DialedRC
JennysRC
LiquidRC
RCWaffle

Couldn’t be happier with pricing, availability, customer service, shipping, OR sales… And half of them don’t add sales tax… That’s a HUGE deal to me..🇺🇸
I just bought an old Optima Mid to resto-mod. I have an OG I'd rather shelve for now.
I bought it with plans to mod and run, can't wait!

When I bought my Arrma's I wasn't so aware of the brand bond with the Horizon conglomerated thing.
I feel like this merge with Google and Spektrum is just the start.
I like my Arrma's but I'm gonna bash them and not get crazy deep in the brand.
I will prob buy 4s suspension and do steering upgrade to Granite 3s when I can find them at Jenny's.
Gorgon I'm just not sure what to do with yet. I have a 3s system for it but its good stock 2s.
That shopping list is great!
Thanks!

Good to know. I'll have to look in to getting the parts to make it wider. 👍
