so while all the above is correct, I finally invested in my 1st better radio due to my Kyosho Camaro stuttering when stopping and starting, it was a radio issue and the place I bought it would not do anything about it, other than to say it was supposed to do that. I replaced it with a gt5 and a new fs-2a receiver that came with it... fast forward a little while... I have many more RC's and again felt the need to upgrade radios as my needs included having 2 from time to time when rc'ing with my son. I bought a radiomaster mt12 which is a upg of the gt5 and more importantly is as close as I could find to future proofing my radio. It does 70 plus protocols (and would have done my kyosho natively) plus with the elrs module you can have all the range you would ever want. It actually runs an OS that is opensource. Much more complicated to learn than the gt5 or certainly the bread and butter RTR transmitters. But it gets easier over time and can do things others simply cannot do. Want to have a switch for your crawler that enables 4ws in 4 diff ways... no issue, want to default your rc to a disabled channel 2 so it does not take off on its on if you mishandle the transmitter... np. Want the lights on the controller to glow red when in disarmed mode ... green otherwise np... and plenty of youtube channels to walk you through it. Have fun with whatever you decide!
