Hi

Just got back into RC Cars after my XTM Rage has been off the road etc for a year while I mucked around with it trying to make it go faster. I've succeeded, however I've now realised that the stock radio gear is pants and doesn't give me anywhere near the range that I need to use the speed :)

So; what should I upgrade to? I use the car pretty much anywhere as it's a 1/18th, so in the town, city, country or forest. I don't usually race with anyone, however my friend has just bought an rc car so we should be spending some more time racing together. I only really have a budget of £100 (I'm in the UK) so what should I upgrade to transmitter and receiver wise?

Cheers,

Buggington

Get a 2.4 ghz radio system if you got the Dough for it!! LOL
Or a good FM radio i had the JR xs3 worked out pretty good for me

Anywhere from $60 to $300+. The new Traxxas link system sounds pretty handy. I just seen one on ebay for $60 yesterday. Tx and rx. I think they retail for around $100.

I'd probably just go with the Trx setup, but futaba, airtronics, and even spectrum offers 2.4 in that price range. I only have experience with the Trx radio though. It worked flawless. Getting used to the short antenna was the trickiest part.:) Maybe some others have used some of these different models, but I don't think you could go wrong with any of the names I listed. They're all quality companies.

Great, thanks!
