Why do u do rc.
I mean I highly doubt any of u guys race enough to live off your winnings no offense.
I do Rc cause its like haveing your own high performance car their for u and were in the world can u do jumps and flips in a car and not get hurt.

Because it's in my head and I can't get it out. A habit I can't quit.
A more serious answer is like like building and fixing fast things.

I like cars in general, both 1:1 and scale r/c. That's why for so long I was much more orientated towards the r/c cars than planes. But I think i'm a little too used to r/c cars and just need a change.

dude, I know what you mean. I was going to make the jump to helis, had about 75% of the stuff I needed bought and then backed out and went back to my first love, nitro off-road. I think you will miss it if you were to stop for a while.

Because my career in Porno didnt take off as well as planned... :smoke:

Actaully I've been into flying Rc's for a couple years, and had a BAD crash, so in the mean time of repairing it, I bought a Tmaxx, and caught the nitro bug. Now after a dozen or so different Rc's, I've cut back and only have 2 planes now...but I'm sure once the snow melts, Ill be gettin the itch again.

something to relieve stress from everything ..i dont even run them and i still keep buyin stuff ..why? i dont know ..

LOL I know the feeling...I haven't pulled anything out in 2 weeks....everything has "issues" right now......and I keep getting a little done on things each day and I spent all day rebuilding my buggy diffs.....and found a cracked hub holder thing for the front..and a bent CVA shaft......and I have 2 t-maxxes in peices...and my TC has no rear diff......and a mutant maxx w/ some serious issues....F*#K ME......but that is at least half the fun cause once you get one tuned perfect you just get all warm and fuzzie all over...can anyone send a loaner til I get all the parts in??????

lol at the loaner if you got 2 kick ione my way got three in the garage area now. Gotta love R.C. . I just rebuilt the engine last night becasue I fixed everything and was ready to start it but the compression was a joke. Then while doing that i found a bad clutch. Seems like the more you fix the more you find. Its all fun though. To the original question i can't offord to drop a new engine in my four wheel drive every year and it wont go from zero to get the hell outta here before you can blink.

I rc cuz I can't find a way that Id end up killing myself due to extreme speed such as in a 1:1 car. Also that it it puts me in left field not givin a damn about anything around me (except the ppl in racing).

i RC simply just because its fun and a enjoyable thing to do with my spare time (the little that i have). I also LOVE tinkering with them breaking them down and building them back up same with 1:1 cars i a huge gear head i think i have oil in my viens LOL.

I just finally found a hobby that I can take it out and destroy it if I need to. Funny thing is they are so strong. I can be a stunt driver this way and get away with it.

My wife says its bettern than heading out and doing something bad.. Here I thought spending so much was but she is too cool for words. I am lucky I have both!

Just got into it, I needed something that didn't involve me getting hurt! All my other hobbies are extreme sports, and I just needed a change, or something to do when I'm injured. I was the only person I knew with an offroad RC truck, and now I've met two other people, and they are really cool, and running a small monster truck is super fun! I have always looked into putting mods on a 1:1, but that's way too expensive for me, I think I'll just make this one look cool.

I r/c because i am not old enough to drive yet and my town is so boring so i chose this. I dont think i could make my brothers 1:1 car anymore faster than it is with the money he has (Not much) ( ran a 10:75 ET at 154mph this summer because of me).

I started into the RC world a few years ago, I bought a SMARTECH from ebay, and it was crap, I had to keep fixing it. So finally I bought the savage. I love it SOOO much now, that my wife caught me standing in my kitchen yesterday with my radio and I was playing with my savage.....and it was outside....I was inside...it was 12 below 0, I wasn't going out there. I just fired it up came inside and had some indoor / outdoor fun. Went through 2 tanks just standing there in the kitchen. Everyday I come home from work...kiss the wife and get onto rcpics.net and pray that they have new savage videos for me to download. I think I am hooked.

I do RC cause its a lot fun! I've got a bunch of other hobbies. But RC is really rewarding to me. If you race you have to do prep work, figure out suspension, gearing, and other technical type stuff.

I also enjoy the comradarie of the other racers and hangin' out.

Sounds like me Jon2 I need someway to let out some aggresion and I too have a very cool wife that lets me buy things for my toys, and my 1:1 Chevy 4x4 would cost alot more to fix if I was to drive it like I do my rc,s hehe But i still take it out and drive over everything I can Rocks, Snow, Hondas, lol mabe thats why is parked with a bad tranny and thanks to an offroad trail in the mnts.

used to race karts (for money) as a kid got bored with the karts

moved on to R/C...dropped R/C to play high school football, baseball, and track....went on to college to play baseball....go back into R/C when I was in between jobs and the R/C track and my old stomping grounds for karting is only a mile away......I have to put people in place on the kart track from time to time........

So I do r/c to distract myself from work, gf, and etc............

I think my reasons for doing it are two fold.

First I enjoy a challenge. In this hobby, "it's always something". By that I mean if you're not having clutch problems, your having radio problems and if you're not having radio problems, you broke something and if not that your fuel line has a hole in it if not that then <insert yesterdays problem>. It's a challenge to fix these things. Furthermore, if you want to take it to a new level, it's an even greater challenge to do all the mantence required to make sure none of the bad stuff happens.

The second reason I'm I do this is because I enjoy driving and the challenges associated with trying to get faster and make fewer mistakes. There isn't anything quite like burning 4-5 tanks of fuel and pulling your RC off the track after the Main and having nothing go wrongIt's the great end to a great day and it makes you grin ear to ear. I can't imagine the rush if I ever won.

I do R/C because I got tired of sinking money into my SHO. Yeah, my car goes fast, but the way I figure it, I wanna be around for my 3.5 kids, so I don't need to go fast in my car. So I bought a Revo and decided to try and make that go fast and I won't get hurt doing it. So now the money goes to the MT with the big purchase of an O.S. 18 coming on Monday. :smoke:
