Hi all, just bought a new body & was told to get the effect i want spray the inside with the base coat (candy red) then small coats of pearl white followed by a over coat or 2 of sprint white. I have the colors & body in hand & ready but my way of thinking is spray the pearl FIRST then the candy red followed by an over coat of plain white. What I'm trying to get is a pearl candy red. I've done 1 body so far & didn't get close to what I wanted (flip flop blue) so can ya-all help me out. I'm set to go-lol. I'm using Practra. Thanks a bunch

Use the color you want as the first coat, the one that's seen the best. I would not use white to accent your pearl color but rather use silver. The results will amaze you. Most purple colors work well having a first and second coat of purple and a third and fourth coat of silver.

I would recommend using unpainted scrap pieces of lexan from other bodies you have already painted for trying different combos before you actually paint your body.

so EL. your saying to spray the candy red 1st??

I have Practa pearl white, candy red, & sprint white

& use silver as a final coat

Are you planning on having your body a single color? If so then the first can you spray is the one you want to see the best. I would save the other colors and buy a can of silver to be painted after your primary color.

If you are planning some sort of fade you want the darkest color first followed by the lighter colors in order of dark to light. As a rule of thumb if you're not sure which one is darker than the other they are probably close enough in color to be either or painted first.

Spray the red first

Back with either Indy Silver or Pearl white, then back with reg white for final backing.

thanks to all who helped:banana: going to try some junk peices & go for it tonight:w00t:

Just make sure you get a good couple of coats of the red... If you dont, you'll end up with a pink body...lol Thats another reason why backing it with silver instead of white is important...
