most sharks need to keep moving or they are not getting fresh water supply to extract o2 from...they basically suffocate if they can't move....when we caught large ones fishing we would gaff hook the tails tie a rope on em and drag them backwards to kill em before bringing it in the boat.....

Yeah, as soon as the shark stopped moving, it was done. Basically it's only defense would be its mouth. As soon as the octo had it from the side, it was lunch time. Sharky just can't turn around and take a bite.
