Had to trim more then I wanted, the body is a little long for it
Looks fine. One thing I would do differently is not cut sharp internal corners into a body, as that creates stress points. It will easily crack there. I would cut it more like this. It will also look more "factory" if that makes sense, and not so much just a clearance cuttout 😉

I’m thinking about cutting that whole body line out under the ford logo to the tail light

I see what you mean. Following that body line might look cool. I would still do this

Or this

Just keep any sharper angle changes in your cut away from that vertical line on the edge of the tailgate. You want to change direction before or after that line because it will be a stress point there. Hard to explain, but that is my engineering eye's point of view.

So the full story about the color 🤣 I ordered spaz stix candy blue for it… well I burned thru that can and it wasn’t enough… so impatient me grabs the tamiya metallic blue I had and threw it on the back 😂…the windows…ran out of the smoke paint on the windshield, threw down the gunmetal on those 😂. I know now for next time 🤣

Patience may be a virtue, but it's also a cruel mistress. ;)

Well, it turned out to be a good combination in the sunlight. Often times you can alter the color or intensity of paint with a backer of another color. Check this out...

Spray a heavy first coat, dab with crumpled foil, spray a different color, dab with foil, spray first color, or even a different color, dab, repeat. Imagine the combinations with like silver and blue or something like that 😉

Happy little accidents here, and a happy little tree over there.

Body/ paint is by far my weakness 🤣 but I’m not afraid to try 🤣

And that’s also why I post em because I know I’m gonna learn something from you and others!

Unless you're right and the camera distance just isn't showing the imperfections... it looks absolutely perfect to me. Time for a few country boy back window stickers.

You can see it up close, this isn’t the only one I’ve had issues with either. The creases where the body lines are are thin, the paint seems to pool away. Kinda hard to describe 🤣 but I’m sure the humidity does not help me any. Ain’t no escaping that here besides painting inside but I'm not set up for that yet

Lots of VERY light coats. As in-to the point where you feel like you’re not getting anywhere.. Trust me. 😉🍻🤙

I know he may look and sound like a snake oil salesman, but he knows his paintwork. :thumbs-up: you can trust him, but only on painting tips, everything else he's one sketchy dude!
