Breydon and I built a Ryft transmission today after getting the axles done yesterday. What a beast this is gonna be.

Will find out this week when I take it to the indoor crawling track. But from what I'm seeing they were right about the jt4. Way better than my trx4 and vs4.

Suspension, articulation, and gearing are really good on this. Was worried about the diffs locking together. Does both at the same time. Climbs most everything with them open actually.

Get some more pics if you take to the crawling course. I love the look of Cross rc's but heard they weren't as good as some of the other major brands. Very interested in how it does. I tend to like the underdogs. :thumbs-up:

Went to the course today. Didn’t feel good so I didn’t stay long. Out of the box stock for stock jt4 vs stock trx4. I’d say both are about equal. Jt4 has better tires, shocks and climbs a little better out of the box.

Now if my $2500 comp trx4 crawler is a 10 this $700 cross is a 8. Little light in front and rear weight. Got some coming. Going to try stiffer fluid (stock 15) 25 weight and some new tires. May even do dessert lizards depending after that.

So doing weights first and tuning from there. Got a great base line on it today.

All in all this is a great crawling kit.

Think I’m gonna grab a at4 next.

The cross does look a lot more realistic in its overall performance.

Finished putting my 1/5 kraton exb together max5/1100kv combo. Chopped up my zee my batteries and put some qs8 connectors on them until cnhl runs another sale and I can snag another set with 8awg leads and qs8 connectors. It's crazy how this rig makes a 56mm can and max5 look tiny.

Well obviously you need a bigger can to fill up some of that space! 🤣 seriously, that's a big mama, imagine she's gonna land with some serious force behind her.

Want to see some safe video of changing plugs on Lipo.
It can be scary, but you just have to do it one cable at a time. I always cut one cable and solder it on and heat shrink it or insert it into the new connector before I cut the second one. Whatever it takes to prevent them from accidentally touching.

I can watch somebody shine shoes for hours, and honestly fall asleep in comfort. "Angelo's shoe shine" I have dozed off with RC pirates too. Long hard days you need a power nap I'm getting there.

It's pretty damn hefty. There's a slightly larger TP motor that I might get if this one isn't to to the task.

It's not difficult honestly. I cut one wire, solder on the new connector. Put tape on the exposed spots, cut the other wire, solder it on, remove tape and bam.

Took the jt4 out for some more tuning. Thing climbs some crazy angles but I figured I could get more out of it. Got another 9 degrees for up and down. Grabbed a spare servo. Drilled some holes then mounted it on some standoffs. Ran a winch cable off a go around I rigged up out of a sleeve and some standoffs. Hooked that to the rear axle. Now I can suck the rear axle right into the frame at will. Really helped it out. Surpasses the trx4 now for accent and decent angles.

I did the front also. No benefit for up and down with that.

Still have to change to thicker shock fluid and shim the diffs. To much free play.

Been wrenching quite a bit this past week. Working on the TC3, the Schumacher, and a guy at the track last night gave us a TC4 chassis that we are going to get up and running. Learning a lot at the racetrack - the guys are all helpful.

Been designing and printing some stuff to get the shift servo I bought for the Ryft installed in the correct position. Also redesigned and printed another ESC mount for it.

The more I see this the more I want one! That body would look good painted like a fire engine. 🤔
