i recruited the wife for painting my progect Tortuga!

just wanted to share (this is pretty rare around here) ha!

Well she's definitely a keeper bro 😅

None of my girlfriend's/2 ex-wives would ever get into Rc or any of my hobbies with me, so color me jealous.

Make sure you post up the finished paint job 😉

I bet there's more females in the hobby than you think 😉, speaking as another female RC hobbyist and restorer of vintage hot wheels. I loved cars my entire life.
I do know there are a fair amount of females into RC. Just never any of the ones I was with. RC Girl on YT comes to mind. She's really cool. And one of the FB groups I was on years ago had a number of females that were on there showing the guys up. One was into crawlers, and I can't remember her name, but she made some really fun videos.

I remember you joining last month. We need more ladies here to de-testerone this bunch, so glad you joined 🤣

Yea, it seems like it's slowly growing, which is awesome. Funny you mentioned RC Girl, she's actually my long time friend, best friend from HS, we're still in touch. She produces some great content :)
That's really cool. Tell her to come by and say hi. I'd love to see her hang out here a bit. When we built our Ryft, hers was one of the builds I looked at for ideas. She went with the Copperhead setup, and I opted for Tekin with ours.

But I remember hers ripped up some gravel piles pretty good. We had similar gravel piles right outside our front door, that I bought the Ryft to play on. By the time we got it and built it, they got rid of those piles and turned it back into a flat field 🤦

I'll see about getting some pics posted soon :). I've honestly only done one, just separated the body from the base of the second one.

You can toss up a build thread in the garage and projects forum so folks can follow along 😉

For sure. Let's see it!
Here's it is! This was the vintage redline 55' Alive Nomad. I played with it a ton as a kid and even stuffed it with Play-Doh 😣. Luckily, even after 30+ years Play-Doh is water soluble. I wanted to keep this one simple as I wanted it to mainly remain how I remembered it, so I refreshed the green paint (didn't add the flames on the sides back) and included extra detail for the headlights/taillights, engine and silver for the grille and bumpers.

Next in line is repainting a 70s van to look like Guinevere from Onward (like my screen name 😁)
