which pipe works the best with a vzb?

Right now alot of people are liking the Ofna Jamin JP1 for a low end pipe. I've seen a few and they seem to wake up alot of low end power from otherwise not so low end engines.
 
Couldn't tell you about that one. I haven't ventured into the highend pipes yet, I haven't even venutred into the higher end engines.
 
I'm also interested in this answer can we also add the best pipe for a P5 to the mix......didn't want to start new thread asking one of the same questions here.....sorry if you think I'm crapping on your thread Speed Buggy.....
 
As I'm sure you know Plaid the P5 has an ass load of low end so I would look for a mid to top pipe for that. JP2 or 086 something like that...
 
Plad an 086 would work well. As for the VZB, if it is anything like the V-spec,use a 086 as well,do you want/need more bottom end? then go JP-1.
 
This is just regurgitated knowledge, but I thought I read (from a moderator on the Ofna forum) that you should buy a pipe that matches the powerband you have. So if you have an engine with lots of top end and no bottom, then you buy a TOP end pipe, to make the even better there. The way I understood it, if you buy a bottom end pipe for a top end engine, you not only lose top end, but you don't gain any bottom end either.
 
for the OS engine, use either the OS 2050 pipe with stock header, or an 086 pipe with a long header.

for the P5 engine use either a short header 086 or a long header 053.

the 086 pipe on both engines will produce the best power, but the other pipes provide incredible fuel mileage with very slight reduction in power.

this is only one way go get a desired result. your missing part of that type of tuning. which requires you to change gearing according to the setup your using. if you got high end engine, with high end pip, you need to gear down to regain bottom end, or you will bog out of every corner and overheat your clutch and engine. if you go low end engine with low end pipe, you need to gear up to gain top end down the straight, otherwise youll get run down like a dog and have soo much bottom end you wont be able to put the power to the ground efficently.

putting a top end pipe on a bottom end engine is a common practice and visa versa. it can change the powerband of the engine to suit the track and gearing of the car. and its pretty fast and easy to do. 2 springs and 1 set screw.

This I understand but did not mention b/c it seemed obvious. Although I guess I shouldn't have assumed this, because alot of the questions I ask seem obvious to others probably.

This, I also thought was true, but was just posting what a mod had mentioned that seemed to contradict common knowledge.
 
I have a VZB, and I run a JP-1 on some short tracks. Tons of low end which is good for my likes, and seems to keep up with the guys running a high end power band on the straights just fine.

FYI- I believe OS rcomends their 2050 pipe.
 
From the guys that race that I have talked to, the JP-1 is a good low end pipe, but they prefer the OS 2050 for the VZB and V-Spec.
 
I have a P5 with a JP-1 pipe, I can keep up with the best of them on straight. Although, it's only like 100'. My engine/pipe combo seems to be just right for the track I run on. I was looking into getting a Jp-2 in case I go to a larger track where you could get up to more speed.
