There are so many OS variants of the .18 out there, e.g.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=&FVSEARCH=O.S.+18&search=Go

But I notice there's only 1 OS .15 and that is the O.S. 15CV-X

My main question is WHICH one is the best overall? I prefer a .15 mill but I might not go with it because there's only 1 .15 and several .18s... not sure whether that's a valid reason though

Does anyone have any experience with the .15? Also if I were to get either a .15 or a .18 from OS, which one should I get? I'm a basher and its going into my rs4 evo3

Also I plan to put a tsais rear exhaust pipe onto my rig so I'm not sure whether the pipe will / won't fit certain makes, can someone confirm that it fits all OS engines .15 and .18?

Lastly what are the advantages of a rotary carb? Do they break easier? More costly?

OS doesn't make a rear exhaust 15 I don't think. The only currently available rear exhaust 18 is the 18TZ which is a very good engine. The 18CV-R is a side exhaust engine.

What are you putting it in?

Slide carbs are proffered. Supposedly a smoother transition throughout the throttle range. Rotary carbs are usually found on small block RTR engines.

I've got the .18 CV-R in my RS4 3 and I love it. I'm pretty sure the pipe will fit any side exhaust engine. heres a pic showing the stock pipe on it. It dropped right in with a little trimming.

If i get the rear exhaust engine (18tz for example) and drop it into my rs4, what pipes could I get which would allow exhaust through the back?

none. get the 18 cvr(x) side exaust.... its side exhaust, the tsais rear pipe will fit bolt-on and its an awesome engine.... i have it in my rs4 and even without race tuning its hard to keep strait in parking lots without 'fresh of the week' ashalt, it keeps the tune and its just plain awesome

also i use lower nitro content fuel (15%) and it rips...i dont even think of what it would be with 20-25% lol:D

actualy i think os makes a rear exhaust pipe for the tz that coulld maybe fit with a side pipe but it fits pretty tight... might have to do some modding there. anyway the tz is way overpowered for a rs4 .. your gonna destroy it in no time

THe cvx is old stock and my lhs only stocks the new tz's so I might have to get a 18tz or 15tz if the 18 is overpowered.... You mentioned a rear pipe for the rs4 if I get the rear exhaust tz, can you show me please? I'm very interested in converting my rs4 into rear exhaust (tsais pipe too expensive and no1 has stock atm)

k your talking like the tsais pipe... i think they are the only one who make it ... i was talking about a rear exhaust manifold for the engine .. the tz engines are rear exhaust whilt the rs4 evo is made to receive side exhaust engine...so... you need a different manifold that will fit your engine and route your pipe at the right spot.... i think os makes that manifold ...you just need to find the right one but you ll have to have the pipe exhaust on the side. thats if you can make it fit because i know its real close if not to close to the tire. btw just order as per tower hobbies if your lhs dont have what you need .

Being in australia means all my orders cost an arm and a leg for postage

Also the AUD went down the toilet so I won't be buying rc parts from the states anytime soon :(
