I'm bout to buy a new MT and am not really sure what to get. So i need some advice from you guys. I want something 1/8 scale, 2 speed, bumpstartable/drillstartable. and right now my choices stand here:

-Truck - Advantage(to me having one)
-AE MGT - I've had one before been a pretty frekin nice truck
-XTM Mammoth - Friends got one so parts galore
-Duratrax Warhead - well i dont have an advantage to it other than it looks like a savage.
-Losi LST(only if its cheaper than 500) - dont have an advantage never even delt with losi
-I dont have any other trucks in mind I'm leaving the rest up to you guys give me some ideas on whats best to race/bash i want to both. give me the goods/bads. i want to know whats going to last through racing and bashing
thanks alot

Dont take this the wrong way,but just look 2 posts down at the "which MT" thread.

nah, go for 50 more, and get the LST w/a killer synthesized radio and servos right outta the box.

-Ult

yeah thats great but i already have an xs3 and great servos. i was thinking along the lines of another mgt. and while I'm at it go ahead and buy a forward only kit. for one i dont think i can buy a forward only kit for the warhead because of its new posi-shift reverse thingy it looks like you can't take it out. LST just to expensive. And mammoth I've just heard ther poop.

Just go with a Savage. You can use roto start, comes with a 2-speed, and is forward only. Get the new 4.6 kit and it comes with a kick ass .28, just my opinion though.

no I'm not going with a savage its too small i know they say its 1/8 scale but a mgt or a tnx is way bigger

If theres one thing I wouldn't call a Savage it would be small, but thats just my opinion. I have never seen a MGT or TNX in person though. Isn't the TNX a smallblocked powerd truck though?? Just my :2cents:

only truck worth buying out there now is the lst its big fast and handles better then any of them only thing better is a full blown supemaxx that cost 3 grand . savage is alright but is a pain to work on , mgt holds up good but its made pretty cheap, t-maxx out of date, mamoth has some issues and the genesis that truck needs to be done over again , i have all these truck exept the mammoth and so far the best truck i have had was the supermaxx and secound the lst

Dimebag, I'm sure the inconsistency of your posts is due to "Short Term Memory Loss" (do you know what causes that?)

None the less I'm sure that the LST that is on it's way is the second one you have owned and the first one is what you based your comparison on.

Mr T

my friend has one thats why i said its the best i have ever seen you didnt have to be so nasty

you must be mad becouse i said that the t-maxx was out dated

I wasn't trying to be nasty, but upon further review I didn't use the kindest of wording.

I just happened to read a thread where you stated that you had owned them all, then the next thread stated that you had just ordered one. I must have misread one of the posts...my bad.

And by no means am I offended or mad because someone called the T-Maxx outdated. If that were the case I would be in an eternal bad mood.

Good luck with the LST, I have had one in my hands (It is a beast) but have yet to see one run.

 Mr T

I'm sorry too i didnt mean i owned them all at one time, I'm a rc junky and I'm only happy with 1 truck for about a month or two them i sell them and try a new one thats the way i am. my friends lst so far has been the best stock trucks i have ever driven thats why i just bought one for my self i should of been more clear in my early post sorry

Its not all that much bigger. I do think that the MGT is just better racer than the savage out of the box. Haven't had too much time driving a savage yet butI do know if you get the MGT there are lots of aftermarket parts. I was considering the FOC for it but didn't. I would replace the shocks and ditch the little lame plastic extensions on the bumpers as they are so useless. I would also get the side exhaust header as you can then tune your exhaust to a specific RPM band type. If you bash then get the RC-solutions roll cage or just a simple but effective New Era 3 Point Roll bar.

Let us know what you get!

Jon

ok right now I'm on the edge lol between a mammoth and a MGT. I'm really looking toward a MGT, the only thing is ther WORTHLESS without a set of tires (which means thers close to 100 gone(and i dont have that lol)). I have owned a MGT and they are very tough!! very tough!! and yes i had planned on ditching the plastic shocks, and their crappy fake piggybacks, and also the bumper lol I'm not sure what to do about it. I had planned on going with the side exhaust also, and a new dual disk brake package they have out i think crazy something makes them, also with the forward only kit. but looking at that right ther thats:
new tires (velocitys and bowties) - aprox 100$
side header - 17.49$
----aluminum shocks - 60.00$
----aluminum shock caps - aprox 40.00$
forward only kit - 15.00$
dual disk brakes - 15.00$
the items with ---- beside them can wait

and the deal with the mammoth so far the only REALLY bad thing i have heard is that the shocktowers are bad? thats really about it. My friend has one and he bent a shocktower the first day. really they already have put out a aftermarket bulky shocktower made by xtm. so thers nothing really i have heard to be wrong with them other than that.

base on my opinions above (alot of them lol), tell me what you guys have experienced between the two and tell me the pros&cons of the two and i will go from ther. I know where i can get a brand new NIB MGT for 370-free shipping right now so I'm looking for some replys within around 2 days. let me know what you think.

thanks alot to the people who actually reply on subject and not rambling on about who said what in some1 elses post and who has this car and who doesn't.

ya i would get the mgt over the mamoth I've heard alot of bad stuff about the mamoth but the mgt is a very tought truck your right about the shock they suck and bumpers and wheels and tires but after i changed that stuff i beat the crap out of that truck and it took it all o and its needs a big motor i put a wasp 26 in mine and it was a wheelie machine only resone i sold it is to get the lst my friends got one and it is a bad asssss truck

Oh damn the brake upgrade! Forgot that one! Definitely upgrading to a dual disk would improve a lot!The CVA's are poop as they break easily so either have a spare set and the rebuild kit handy or upgrade to the MIP ones. They are pricey but worth it.
