I found a set on ebay that have huge pins. I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a set with huge pins. they don't have to be kyoshos but I need to find HUGE pins.

thanks for the reply but those are not them. they have HUGE pins. the guy on ebay says they are kyosho tires.

I'm looking for tires like these but for a buggy. these are 2.2 prolines

Trac-Ta-Gator

Fits any 2.2" truck wheel. Large lug tire is great for back yard thrashing and neighborhood romps.

yup thats what we use for our indoor track (losi taper pins)

how hard are they to modify? do you need to modify the rims, or just the tire? does anyone have pictures with 2.2's mounted on buggy rims? do they stay glued? anybody know what ones i liked to ebay are?

any tips to mount these on buggy rims

To fit stadium truck tires on 1/8th scale rims, all you have to do is cut the bead off (i use the outside line, but be aware if you race some places tech the dia of your tire (usually big races), so u may need to keep that inmind if you plan to race). Once cut they they fit right up with the rim. As for them staying on, I've made prob 4-5 sets and not had one come off yet. Attached us a set of my race tires i use for our indoor dirt track(hard packed) (team losi taper pins - pink compound).

those look perfect. i'm gonna give it a try. since the losi is a softer compound does that make them easier to put on. what about the width. do they slide into the grove on the 1/8 with the siwalls cut or on top? thanks for the help.

well softer = wears alot faster. They are cake to put on as is, the side walls sorta curve into the rim bead, so it works out great

i'm gonna try it after work. I'll post pictures. I'm just a little nervous b/c i'm not known for my glue skills. Anybody know which the ones those are on ebay. i'm still trying to find out. the owner doesn't know they came off kysho he bought used on ebay.

slothy,
What type of foams are you using on your cut tires. I have a set of taper pins on the way.

I'm USING TRINITY blues 1/8 scale (firm), i know some guys use the center section of the 3-piece t-maxx foams..

u going to crcrc for the big race ?

should i use 2.2 foams or like you recommend trinity blues? i got the tires, cut the bead and they fit GREAT. I did not get foam I wanted to test it first. I went with the proline tires (on pevious page). They look SICK. Thanks for the help all.

No, Ohio is a little far for me. Next big race I will be going to is in Columbiana, AL. I think the taper pins will work well there, as well as the indoor track I'm running on this winter.

Just wanted to update anyone intrested in trying this. I can't get the dig camera work right now but i made a set using the proline 2.2 trac ta gators. just cut the side walls and they fit mint. Thanks to all for the help.
