Welcome to RCNT... Well, you've taken care of the major upgrades...lol I'm running an Ofna Hyper 7 Pro PCR Edition. As far as the steering slop, I would check to see if there are plastic bushings in the front end, & simply replace with bearings. I'm not real familiar with that model, but I'm sure there's someone on the boards that can help ya out...

yeah i got bearings all around but in steering and brake cams....just a basher i'm used to be into 1/10th-1/12th scale...on-off-carpet.

If I'm not mistaken, that one didn't come with the PBS setup. One of the biggest things you can do to make that Comp's steering better is to upgrade the front end to a PBS setup. I have that on my Lx Pro and it has taken a ton of slop out. Very similar to what the MBX and even Hyper 7 PBS run - except the Hyper 7 PBS also has a rear setup; haven't checked to see if that can be ported over to the Ultra line of cars. Other than that, yes, I'm running the same spring setup. How's that 063? Its really a mid-range pipe from what I've seen - you could go lower with an 053, but that really is low and the RPM's on that .26 are bit higher range. I'm still running my stock pipe on the Force .25 I have, but this .25 was ported and polished by the previous owner so the HP/RPM's are no where near stock.

I have the 9.5 MBX with a OS .21 RGX & love the thing
Running the 3PDF also & 2 HS 645MG servos
Looking forward to racing when it cools down again

Yeah I have the same rig as IMBROKEN and it is a pretty tough buggy. I have upgraded to an OFNA/PICCO 26 in it and benched the Ofna 8 port race. I like the pull start method more when it comes to off road. I have add a JP1 Jammin pipe, Proline Knuckles and 645MG servo for steering. I use my xr3i to control it and three other rides. Oh yeah I use the Motorsaver filter and run 5-5-7 for my diffs. tried the 3-7-1 but it was too loose for me.

i'm looking at making a cold air intake for mine.....pbs? is that a like a certain model i'm new to 1/8th buggies...is the steering alum w/ bearings and does anyone know of a better tie rod and end does lunsford make em did not see any on their site....gotta upgrade the throttle servo looks like a few hs-645 mg's out there i used to run a futaba um think it was an s-9404 sound right? bad ass though that was on my xxx-s carpet car...

what temps have you gotten to i'm still breaking in and tuning 7 tanks so far...o'donnel 99 glow plug for my climate i reached 238 today still rich....really want the 2 speed.....063 is good low-end....i wouldn't drop any lower i'm gonna smooth and polish inside the header. it's a little rough...

PBS = Pillow Ball Suspension. Its a nice suspension setup that you really can't go wrong with. It totally tightens up the steering linkage and front end and doesn't have it all loose. Check out Ofna or Nitrohouse.com for pics and details. This will probably address your tie rod question for sure, as the PBS is part of that.

Steering servo wise, check the other Ofna Lx Comp post here - I list a few that I thought were great for upgrading the steering.

Temps should not ever get over 270, ideally - no matter what stage you are in.
