My daughter (7years old) wanted to get into the "CRAZE" of Nitro. So, I went out looking for something used, not too fast, and not too expensive. Something that if she wrecked it, I would not have too many regrets. Well, went to the race shop, and ran into the RD Logic Sho. New for $295. Looked it over. It had good components. What I thought was a decent .21 powerplant. Bought it, brought it home, took it out of the box....and it was raining, so my daughter decided she wanted it painted PINK. Yes PINK!. The next day, after breaking it in, we headed for the outdoor oval. Me with my Revo, My budy with his Jammin Buggy, and this "cheap, pink thing." After waching her take it around the track a few times I asked her to switch with my buddy, who races buggies. This pink thing, in the hands of someone who is fairly good, SMOKED, yes SMOKED any and all other buggies on the course that day. Yesterday.

So, my question is, why is a $300(which is cheap) buggy racing with, and beating, 1K vehicles? Or is this not a cheap, lesser of a vehicle?

Its mainly the driver. The high end buggies may have top of the line products in them but they arent going to make it past the finish line with out a good driver controling them.

Yes. However, he has about $1500 in his vehicle. So, as he said, "$1200 more" but not $1200 more worth of results. He tried to talk my daughter into doing an engine swap an test them both.

What I am wondering about is, is this the going rate for lower end buggies? I just hit a shop in Dubuque IA looking for a body for my Revo, and they had a buggie for $279. Forgot which brand, started with an "o". Looked the same. It just seems to me that the sho I bought is either discontinued and I got lucky and picked it up, or it is just not that tough, because it has not been really hammered yet. As for Set up, I do not know enough about the options or the mechanics to speak on that. I just insure my tires are aligned, it has fuel, and the batteries are charged. Then I play.

If it started with an "O", it was probably one of the entry level Ofna buggies.

I have seen a good racer with a budget Ofna smoke ok drivers with Jammin's, hyper's, mugens, and so on!!! I think it almost always comes down to driver skill. Obi
