LOL yea that was me, it was Gumbo and not that crap you buy in a box either! I have been a few place that have never seen anything like it but everyone that was willing to try it loved it...If your ever in the neighborhood I'll hook you up

Yo Smaxxin where in LA. I am from Meterie and my sister still lives in Slidell. And I would come on over for Gumbo anytime.Yummm.l I miss the food the most from NOLA. I just had a shrimp boil here on the 4th weekend instead of burgers and dogs.

I'm in Ville Platte, it's a small town about 2 hours west of Meterie. I know how you feel man, you can find good food anywhere but certain things can only be found in Loouisiana...and mainly in the southern part of the state. When you do find "cajun food" in other places it's just not the same!
