Ok I gave up on the regular type glow ignitor and bought the Magnum cables with alligator clips to hook onto a battery but I think I bought the wrong type battery. I blew two plugs almost instantly. I got a lantern battery 6 V. What type of battery should I be using?

whoa !!!! use a 1.2-1.5 volt battery ("d size" works well) - 6volts will hose your plugs in a sec hehe as u noticed

thanks I will try it out.....you can stop laughing when I am done :D

dont feel bad, my startbox has a control panel on it with a glow plug output, well after going thru 3 turbo plugs, i realized the panel was screwed up and was tossing 12v out.. - nice lil 20 buck mistake

oohh wallets hurting for that one

Hobbico makes a 1 and a half volt battery i use it to start my engine and i have 6 friends that use it too. Never messed up any of our glow plugs.
