I’m looking for a little guidance and maybe a little push in one direction or another; I like so many others am going to ask that million dollar question What Truck? As like the rest of the newbie’s that ask the same question, am lost! I have been looking and reading a lot of the posts on this board and others and I do understand that each truck has its own merits, for the job that you want to use it for. I guess the question then comes in what fits your interests, and your price range. Here is where you guys come in with that little push to one side or the other, right now I’m on the fence with two trucks (I do not plain on racing at this time, and if later I would get to that stage I can always add a new toys if needed) I was all ready to order the Revo but then I ran across the Savage X., which one to get? Both are comparable in price so that is not a factor at this point, I guess what I’m looking at right now are the hop ups, Revo has been out for some time so there are plenty of parts that will work with it. The Savage X on the other hand is new, will a lot of the old parts work or are we looking at a truck that will not have that wide selection of parts. I guess another question, are the prices of the parts close, lower A arms and things of that nature. Which one is going to be easier to work on when broke, is there a big difference from 1/10 to 1/8 scale.

Start pushing.

if your wanting something now i would go with the revo or even the savage le. then new x will be a few months befor it comes out and even then i wouldnt run out a buy the first one off the truck. every new rc has some little bugs that need worked out. i would normaly give it 6 months for the manufacture to fix it. since this is a remake of the savage, they may get it worked out faster. the savage is a proven tough truck but the revo is building its rep to. but remember rpm (a aftermarket parts maker) doesn't even make arms for the savage. why? cause they wouldnt sell any. if your looking to beat the snot out of a rig day in and day out go savage. but your gonna be waiting awhile if you want the x.

look into the le or the 4.6 there both nice trucks. I'm personaly bias as I've never owned a revo. but I've seen them get beat on pretty good with little breakage.

the revo is also a small block truck and traxxas has squeezed every last ounce of HP out of that mill. almost nothing will make it run any better then stock. (without replacing the mill) where as the savage is a big block mill and you can pic from the many big block mills up to a .32 now. (that is if you want to upgrade) or change the head for a better one and get better perfomance.

the sav is a bit harder to work on, untill you figure it out. the tvp (twin vertical plate) design makes it hard to get to some stuff.

the revo is basicaly a flat chassis so its a bit easyer to get to everything.

and on replacment parts.

you dont even need to worrie about that with the savage. its wont be how much they cost that saves money. it will be the lack of haveing to replace them, that saves the bank.
