So, as most of us know the EZ Start system from traxxas while sometimes it might be great..most the time they SUCK!!

So i went to fire up my 4tec that i just bought..yes its used so I'm not mad i was having problems..

But what does it mean when the ez start system just clicks? or turns then immediately stops?

Sound's to me if your getting an clicking the 3.3's engine might be loaded-up with nitro fuel & you will have to remove the glow plug & dump out the nitro in the head.. On the EZ-starts you have 2 lights make shure both of thouse lights are green when you go to fire-up the 3.3's powerplant... If you dont get both green light theres a problem within the starting system itself "IE Glow Plug bad - Glow Plug wire frayed or broken - EZ start battery pack not fully charged up - EZ Start motor burned out " sometimes with constant cranking will burn this motor up" Check all these item's out & go from there & hope this help's you out

You can always cut the blue wire and buy/use a glow warmer to start the engine. The ez start system has a rep for that blue wire not putting out enough juice to glow the glow plug which could lead to flooding the engine.

Take your plug out and using the ez start, spin it. If it cranks the engine over, you probably primed it with too much fuel. If it don't, you might as well spend $15 and get a new one. (or a pull starter). It's real ez to burn up that motor. As for priming, I don't prime my engines by covering the exhaust for a second or 2. I use an eye dropper and put 4 or 5 drops in the carb and crank it. That keeps me from flooding it. Make sure your starter battery is charged up. AND you should use a glow plug ignitor instead of the blue wire because you need to keep the plug hot until combustion keeps it going.
