T Maxx is not that bad, but had durability issues. There are upgrades you can get to address some of these, but you will still end up replacing alot of parts if you bash and jump alot. If you can score one for really cheap then it might not be a bad beginner truck. I would say spend alittle more and get a good truck that can handle the abuse from the get go. Savage has been recommended several times and for good reason, they are tough. It is pretty hard to break one. Like all rc's, they do have weak points so make sure you do some research before deciding. These days, most weak points are addressed with upgrades. I recommended the Monster GT. They, like the Savage, are tough. They are not any better than the Savage, but just my personal preference. You can do alot of stuff with them including racing and hardcore bashing. To answer your question, MGT's jump very well and are capable of big jumps. Look around and see what kinda deal you can find. I would whole heartedly recommend a Savage or MGT. Revos are nice too. They are smaller (1/10) compared to the other two (1/8) so it all comes down to what you want and really which one tickles your fancy. In the end, all three will be a great choice. Enough babbling from me. lol
