I got a serious problem with my maxx again. When i hit the gas the truck revs real high and doesntt start moving until a few seconds later. It's like the geras wont engage. I took the trans apart and all the gears were intact. I have no idea what's wrong.

A few things to check-

-did u check ur clutch shoes to make sure they arnt worn out?
-do u have ur spur gear/ slipper pads put together correctly?
-Are the red friction pads in the spur gear worn out?
-IS ur clutch bell glazed over on the inside?

I use to have this problem then i bought a new 18th clutch bell and a new set of clutch shoes and it solved the problem.

sounds like a clutch/flywheel problem to me.

Unless of course your slipper os wayyyyy too loose.

try tightening it down all the way

Hey We found out What was wrong it was the red pegs, He got some new ones but now he can't tighten the slipper at all. we will get the nut on and then it just slips. Do you have any tips?

Thanks
Doug

I agree you need a nut.. damn that is too funny. Might as well get TWO NUTS..

Jon

Just kidding.

Does the nut tighten the spring down all the way? If so, does the gear slip on its axle and rotate freely without moving the axle? If so, check to see that you have the gear properly lined up on the axle with the slipper plates in the right location. Sometimes they do not line up properly and will not tighten down the way they are supposed to.

If the nut does not tighten down and is the item that is slipping, I refer you back to my original line (my original reply).

I fixed it, i fixed it. Had to liquify the loctite again so i took a mini torch to it. he he. It's fine now. Thanks for the help.
