What Servos Do I Need

can anyone tell what servos to use for general bashing around and for racing
what servos do i use with stock radios and what to use with new digital radios
what should i use for thes cars

with stock tires but i want to out 40 series on my savage

You could definitely get away with using a Hitec 625mg and a 645mg. Pretty good servos with great warranty.

The biggest factor is how much do you want to spend, or more to the point, whats the MOST you want to spend on each,any,or total? Racing any of these, or is it more for durability?

Like psu said, money is the ultimate factor. But I will say this, if your racing against any kind of competition you will have a hard time to compete with 645 and 625 servos. The 645 is too slow for steering and the 625 is too weak for steering. Just my .02.

OK, I guess I can give ya a "rule of thumb" kinda thing. You need at LEAST 100 oz tq for the steering on a MT, and I say the more the better. You also want it to be a metal gear servo(mg). The 645 is a good bashing servo, but as was said is kinda slow for racing.

You dont NEED 100 oz for the steering on a ST, but I would say it is a positive. I have seen racers use 625 and 645 on the steering of their ST's and not have much of a problem. Again the 645 is a bit slow.

As for the brake/th servo.......I have used the 625 with no problems. MT's need more from this servo,to slow down those big tires, but it is not bad on ST's. I have used standard servos in my ST's here and had no problems. The rule of thumb here is to have a fast servo, but also one that will be able to yank the binder when needed. A MG servo is not NEEDED here, but if you can afford to do it....do it.

I only gave you the 645/625 combos b/c that is what a lot of people run, but there are MANY options based on $$$$$
