Now I know you guys see a lot of these types of threads but it's for a good cause. :)

I noticed in the recent servo thread someone suggested the guy to go to Servo Database Comparison. I went and looked into it myself and found different servos I would liked to try.

I am currently running Saxox's 0252's on all of my cars they are so so and get the job done but recently I started wanting more (this hobby makes us sound like crack addicts) :D

I'm torn between Savox's SC-1257, SC-1256, HobbyKing's HK47111 and HK47003. What do you guys recommend? Does HobbyKing make nice stuff?

Any input will be helpful thanks!

What is it you want out of your servo, and what's your budget?

-Fast
-Powerful
-Cheap

Pick any two.

Well all three that is why I was looking into the HobbyKing, are they good or are they just airplane servos? Is there a difference anyway?

1257 for throttle
1256 for steering
The 0252 are slow

I would like to stick with Savox I haven't had any issues with them yet and I understand that you get what you pay for and maybe more but the right now the most I want to spend on a servo is $60.

Also I probably will be using them on my electric cars to.

Fast & cheap, possible.

Fast, powerful and cheap? Never seen it, at least not with any semblance of quality. You're talking $100+ brushless digital servos here.

How fast do you need? Remember, too, that with a more powerful servo, you can increase the ratio, compensating for lower speeds. I run Kyosho KS200 servos in both of my Tamiya truggies, and in several 1/10 kits. They're not super fast, but at 200 in.oz. and all steel gears, you can move the link pretty far in on the arm and still have plenty of power to turn wheels.

check the specs on the 1258 , wicked fast but just a tad under 200 oz works great in a sc not sure on a monster I have a 1231 in a revo and that thing is fast and with 444oz of torque its great.
I recently tried the cheap servo route and in the end it don't really pay off ,1 dead so far...

I want fast maybe not so powerful and cheap for my SC-10, I run the 0252's cause they are the only thing that will fit in it and that was in mu budget at the time. But I broke a stock bell crank with it (I am going aluminum). Plus if I break the servo somehow I can swap it off of my Stampede or something like that.

I want powerful and fast on my 1/8th rigs and I put a 0252 on one them it was a monster truck, it works but really slow. I know you guys will yell at me for this but I use a HS-311 for throttle. The only reason is because I am not racing it or getting to far with it. Hotrodrob suggested the 1257 that is way to far out of my price range especially sense I am trying to get my steering together first.

So mostly I want fast and be able to swap it out form one car to the other and won't break. I am doing light bashing so I am not really afraid of breaking them. Plus all the horns being the same size.

Thanks!
