With that said I think you maybe biased and granted I maybe to but you do own a trx.15 pro T-maxx and not the new 2.5. I also want to state up fron the Savage is a great truck and it along with the Tmaxx own the MT class.
Humboldtblazer, no flame taken, but you should be very careful in what you describe as mine.
My T-Maxx is the old version to start and that is where it ends. With just over $2000 invested in it, and a Fantom engine, my T-Maxx is no longer a TRX .15 PRO. As for it not being a 2.5, this is true, but the 2.5 engine in the new T-Maxx is the only thing that truly sets it apart. I have an engine that has run down a couple of 2.5s like they were standing still. I have a T-Maxx that is bulletproof compared to an out of the box T-Maxx. I have spent countless hours and more than enough bash sessions with my T-Maxx to be able to have a biased opinion for the little sucker. Heck I put more than three gallons of fuel in some hard core bashing through my T-Maxx before I even got the Savage. I like my T-Maxx and think that it (any T-Maxx) is a great truck.
BUT....
The Savage out of the box is a stronger truck. It might not be as fast as the T-Maxx out of the box, but as I said speed and monster trucks...kind of not the first thing I think of. Speed and onroad racers...they go together like a hand in a glove. So while I want a fast truck so I can get great air off of huge jumps, I'd rather start with a weak ass engine and a super strong chassis and main structure...dump a buck fifty on a better engine and then go stomp the crap out of a few more T-Maxxes for the hell of it. I don't want to have to spend another $2000 on upgrades and replacement parts, if I can spend half that and have twice the fun.
Just my opinion....no flames directed anywhere...
