What kind of Truggy Motor Do U Have?

Yep, those guys regularly wax ass around here. Barry is the nicest kid you'll ever meet too. He'll show up to race late, run one 5 minute qualifier.....then win the Amain with 4 or more laps on the field! He's an awesome driver.

I didn't get to talk to either of em since I showed up right at the time the mains were starting. Everyone was a tad busy. Barry only had 1-2 laps on 2nd place, but he was FLYING!

Ooooh new engine and pipe are all shiny! I cannot wait to drive her!

Purty! I went to Sumter Saturday on a whole 4 hours of sleep over a 26 hour period. Too damn tired to run the main! Barry was turning 28 second laps, i was turning 30's.... not too shabby! Fierce competition! New tires and some sleep would have made a huge difference, but I finally got the olf Kyosho dialed. Point and shoot. I loved it. I was giving the Losi 2.0's hell with my old engine! She was handling so good I barely had to lift of the throttle for the sweepers.

So I now have 4 tanks through the S852. It was a complete joke to start (OFNA Truggy box running 4s LIPO) without the shim, so I didn't bother adding it. So far so good. I had to wrap the head to get it up past 200 for those first 3 tanks, but it maintained VERY VERY well.

Keep in mind this is the first engine I am breaking in from drop 1 of fuel. Prior to this I have only broken in a freshly pinched sleeve.

After Tank 3 I unwrapped the head (using a 1/10th foam), and it's just humming along so far. Boring even ;-) Tank 4 I finally started using some quick bursts of 1/4 to 1/2 throttle....and it's just running awesome thus far. Ambient temp is dropping outside, so I stopped at 4 tanks and I'm impressed so far.

I've only adjusted the tune a little bit from factory, and while I haven't driven it yet, or gone full throttle....it seems to be running very nicely. I think the LSN is at 2.5 - 2.75 turns in from flush now and the HSN I only leaned maybe half a turn so I'm at @ 1.5 turns out from flush.

This engine/pipe combo does sound pretty meaty! I cannot wait to get this thing out on the track already!

Oh I am..believe me. Not racing till March anyway! PLENTY of time to get some fuel through her.

Trinity Extech .24 non-mod

Plan on a backup... They run astoundling, but do not last. I've seen too many grenade way too early. These were tuned and maintained by good mechanics also..
Trinity is going South slowly...

Hey Scrogg I put the Ercm pipe in my 8ight-T with a Rex p5x. She screams pretty good.

Well Scrogg, I'm not going to post pictures of your engine, gotta keep the competition wondering how your doing what you do, hehe. I hope you don't mind but I introduced Thunder and Lightning tonight :hehe: Two words of advice....... HOLD ON !!! :first_place:

What's the main problem with these? I did reseach on them and everyone said good things then I buy the thing and then i hear about then failing. Since I'm in Iraq right now I haven't even got to run it yet. Boy this sucks...

Robin.....all I can say is I'm speachless! Absolute masterpiece! Thanks a million! I just wish you could experience it first, you deserve it.

@ Roach; Iv'e seen one break the sleeve in two complete seperate pieces, several with soft crankshaft rod pins, one break a rod @ 4 1/2 gallons on a new set of bearings. All of them around gallon 3 or 4 have completely lost all pinch. Which is not a bad thing, that's when they really make power! But none have survived to the 5 gallon mark.
In comparison a Picco will take roughly 7 gallons to fully loose pinch, again this is where they make crazy power!
Good news is if anything fails prematurely during the first gallon or so, Trinity will replace it. They have been warranting them properly.

@ Tom; She sounds awesome! Gotta love it when a long wheel base truggy can wheelie for that long!

Thanks Scrogg for the great news. Well then. I guess I'll have to find another engine to keep in mind.

Sorry bud, if it fails on you I am close friends with a Trinity sponsored driver. I'll see what I can do for you since you are a long way from home. The 2057 pipe is a lethal brute on that engine. The 2056 smooths it out a lot. The 2013 would be uncontrollable on bottom end. They are truly powerful; engines with good runtimes. I've just seen more lemons that you should from a so called Italian company.
One More thing.....the cooling heads break super easy. My buddy has 4 or 5 broken ones hanging on his trailer parts wall.

I purchased a JL like the one post in the above post from Extreme, How well do you think that would do in a truggie???

I don't think it came from me, I do have them in stock but I know the guys who purchased them through me. It's a little soft in the bottom (depends on what your used to) but there is no lack of power from mid to top. It will be a great club level engine, the power-band will really help keep it in control off the line and really ramp up as ground speed increases. The fact it has a billet machined piston is a big bonus too. :)

I just got the o.s. .28 xz for my 8T. Just started breaking it in over the weekend. My starter box is still rocking back and forth, crying in the corner. Aside from that, the engine is pretty wicked. I think it may end up being too wicked once it's tuned though...
