What is this for?

Does anybody know what this is for?

I’ve been trying to figure it out for day’s now. It comes on the radio box parts tree and fits perfectly on the roll bar on ether side. There is even a cap screw and nylock nut included for it.

I thought it would be another location for an antenna, but an antenna tube just slides right through it.

I put this in the general nitro forum incase it’s for some universal thing on most trucks/buggy’s, but this is on my Savage X

Maybe for fuel line or a fuel filter?Odd to have it on the roll bar but its a thought?

it is to small for tubing. This is going to drive me nut's.

I was wrong. It comes with the Rollbar parts tree

Maybe it's a beer holder for the little person in the reciever??











Seriously tho, maybe you only have one of two, and it is a mount for something for the body? *shrug*. I seriously need to get a savage, lol.

Maybe it's for linkage to pass thru, like for a shifter, or something?

It's a whistle for deer. When you are driving it scares them away so you won't run into them.

I know this is a fairly older thread, but I think I've figured it out. That is most likely for the quad rider body to mount onto.

It's a mount for the flux capacitor.

i would say... put it on the other side, and run the antenna through it... to sort of stabalize it? second guess is with heartbreak - beer holder.

I think HPI and Traxxas want to see how many people they can drive crazy with things that have no use. The Savage with this little part and the Revo 3.3 (not sure about the 2.5) has a extra mount?? on one side of the rear body mount that has no obvious use........It's a conspiracy!

i have a similar question on the radio box parts tree (sav x) what are the 2 l shaped parts with 2 holes in and the strip of plastic with the 2 notches in it
they seem unrelated to the radio box

At first sight I too thought antenna wire as well, but given the location it doesn't make sense. I'm guessing a transponder maybe?

Funny thing is it's not even shown in the Savage manual.

Did you send a picture to HPI and ask them?

It's too small to be for a transponder. Perhaps it's for the quad rider body? Or a way to hold the antenna wire under the body?
