A centax clutch is a "push type" clutch.
When a regular clutch engages, the shoes swing outwards with centrifical force. In a centax, centrifical force pushes the clutch forward. This gives a mroe solid engagement. Another plus with the centax is the ability to adjust egngement points.
In a regular clutch, the shoes are adjusted with trial and error via shaving weight off the shoes or drilling holes. This can be an expensive and tedious task so keep a few choes handy and keep the original one for comparing. With a centax, it's adusted by taking off the clutchbell and turning a screw to advance or retard engagement points.
What's good abou adusting the rpm egagement is the "snapiness" of the engagement. The Higher the RPM, the more power you will be putting to the drive train. With a regular clutch, the engine has to pwer through the low setting to get to the optimum power band of the engine.
Centax clutches can come in a 3 or 4 shoe confiuration.
