What happens when you fully open the carb throttle and the engine starts to reach high rpm.will it stay at that rpm or will it damage the engine.

Welcome all depends on why and how long
Are you tunning or flat out running. The nitros are made for high rpms.

Without a load on the engine it will damage the engine. If you're just talking about running WOT a lot then it will be fine as long as you have a proper tune and watch your engine temps.
 
I don't have a lot of experience with nitro engines, but my dad worked on a lot of 2 stroke engines for weed eaters, chainsaws, etc. He said it wasn't good to just hold the throttle open for long periods without a load on them. Same goes automotive engines, which is why there are rev limiters on them. Without a limiter - boom. So I would have to agree with Greywolf here.
 
Just running it flat out
Yeah like wolf said above. You can as long as you have a good tune. And the gearing is good. And won't over heat and stress the motor. I mean I have 4 nitros. I go WOT. And I haven't had a problem. I'm not doing laps in a 5 acre field. Running the whole tank WO.
