I just got done destroying my buggy,,,, and spring is almost here. So my buddy has a t-maxx 2.5 for sale, it's in pretty good shape and he told me $125. i think thats a pretty good deal. Now i just need you all to talk me into it. If i do this, should i upgrade the 2.5 to the 3.3, i think Traxxas charges $150 or something. Is that worth it?

Go for it. As long as everything works fine and the motor isn't worn it's a screaming deal. Just put some RPM arms and parts on it and get a OS 18tm for it. I have a 2.5r and its screaming fast and blows the 2.5 out of the water. I get wheelies all the time and my truck is HEAVY! There great little trucks and for 125$ i'd snatch it up before he changes his mind.

Thats a great deal, and as long as the moter is still tight I would wait to upgrade it to a 3.3 until 2.5 is worn out . I was looking on the Traxxas site the other day and it cost $115.00 dollars to upgrde to 3.3 from any other Traxxas motor and that included shiping.. not a bad deal , its what I will be doing when my 2.5R wares out.. Here is a link to the engine replacement page http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitro/erp/trx_erp_pop.htm#mostpopularoptions
