I remember when victims had more rights than their abusers.

I remember when cops were heros.

man those were the days...when we had a JUSTICE system instead of a legal system.....you break the law....suck it up and take your punishment.....
I am in the midst of this very situation and I might go away for a state funded vacation....(doubt it) but the thought that I could be the one going away for some assholes starting w/ me just pisses me off....and to make it even better you never really know what the court is going to say when you go.....I've had 5 hearings and they last like 10mins each....but i have to sit in the court for hours waiting to be called.....and then the judge just reads some legal mumbo jumbo and sets another date......the last 2 times my lawer spoke 2 sentences during the hearing......WTF!?!?!?!?......next date is march 30.....whoopeee.....oh well.....I don't think I'll go away though...I have a clean record......I'll stop bitching bout my issues now back to guns......I like guns and Guns like me....I like guns....cause they made America FREE.....

I remember being able to spend $1 at the corner store and buy enough candy to make me sick all week..
I member when everything west of where I live was Cow pasture....Now it's a traffic nightmare for at least 50 miles out.....
I member when schools didn't need metal detectors at every door.....
and kids didn't worry about someone saying they were gonna kill em, cause it was just a figure of speech....
I remember making more money 15 years ago as a bike messenger in NYC than any job I've had since.......I made 85,000 in one year......
I remember when Fax machines came down to less than 300 dollars....that's when I quit being a bike messenger....LOL

I remember walking to the beach whwnever we wanted to without our parents.
I remember building a raft out of plastic barrels and a pallet and then losing the paddels, thought we would drown only to find out before we hit the lough that the river was only up to our chest.
I remember my 48k ZX SPectrum+ with seperate tape "drive."
I remember riding my bike almost 10 miles to get to a BMX track only to be too tired to ride when we got there...and then having to go back later.
I remember drowning in a public swimming pool...I remember being hit by a car...I remember falling off a garage roof when i was 5 and only breaking my arm...I remember being caught in a house fire...how the $@%# I made it to 10 is beyond me.
I remember riding the bus into Derry City.
I remember seeing british soldiers in full camo, vests about 3 inches thick and full auto rifles patrolling the streets.
I remember the sound of bullets zipping overhead.
I remember the business end of a soldiers rifle being put into my face.
I remember September 3rd, 1987 at aprox. 4:30 PM and thinking, "DAMN, this place is hot" when I first arrived in this country at JFK airport in NYC.

I have to crappy of a memory to remember much of anything... head trauma when I was a baby, sad story...

Most of what I remember from my childhood was around the time of a life altering event. I'll be 29 in a few days, so the rest of you can tell me what I should have remembered.

What I do remember is lots of car wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, being set on fire, being shot, being set on fire again, knocking out my front teeth... twice.

My parents still have a rotory phone and a TV without a remote (in the kitchen anyway). They still also don't have a computer of any sort and also still use non touch tone service on thier phone.

So some of my "remembering when" just takes a trip to my folks.

A few things I remember missing: Knight Rider, beavis and butthead, fraggle rock, rocky and bullwinkle, transformers the toys and the cartoon, he-man.

I vaguelly remember the challenger shuttle incident.

I have a lot of memory fragments that I can think of and I'm not sure what it is or when it was... does that count?

My dad is the same way w/ the phone and no computer.....when we work in the garage we listen to his 8-tracks on the stereo......he's got over 3000 that still work.....he does have cable now and a cassette player in his truck since 3 years ago..it was 8-track till then.....
I remember understanding engines and not NEEDING a computer to help you fix them....
I remember tuning my harley exhaust w. a bolt on the end of the pipe.....
I remember being able to actually make things in a metal shop instead of drawing them on a computer and letting it make it for you......
I remember when Made in america meant quality....and Made in china wasn't even an option (in my mind anyway)....
I remember when your neighbors said hello and stopped to talk to each other and looked out for the neighborhood....
trick or treating wasn't followed by a trip to the ER to X-ray your candy........
I knew everbody on my block by first and last names.......or reffered to them as Sir, Mr. Ms. or Ma'am......
I remember when you would see kids playing w/ toy guns and not even have to question if they were real (even though they looked it).....

Metallica's last Awesome album was And Justice For All...... The Self Titled album(black album) wasn't that great,I consider load better than the black album.
