No, you don't need the signal wire. The signal wire is just for sending a PWM frequency to control movement of say a servo or whatever. If that were even possible for LED's to utilize a signal wire, it would be to control brightness for example.thats the right ones.. but lets back up.. cuz i'm confused..
dont i need the signal wire if i'm wanting to control the lights with the tx? with this new esc only having channel 3 open?

Yes, you can. If your radio has a channel 3 on it, it should just be a toggle switch. This switch will simply turn the power on and off to channel 3.mostly i guess i meant.. these lights only have the 2 wires.. no signal to them.. does that mean i can't control the lights with the remote?
