if I go from Traxxas fuel to Another Brand what do I have to do.. (engine wise) do I have to just run it rich for a few tanks or do I have to break it in again??? oh same nitro content..

:stupid:
Just re-tune to adjust for the difference it the lubrication package.

Some people make a big deal out of changing fuels, I don't see the need to take any extra precautions.

Me niether, I switched from traxxas to o'donnell, and I love the fact that I did. :)

I made a post about this exact same thing. Yeah I switched fuel back and fourth Trinity and Top-Fuel.

My top-fuel is almost gone and thinking about O'Donnel

I richened mine up just a little to be on safe side then leaned it back out

I agree with rob. Richen it a little and run it just to see how your engine likes it. Take some temp readings and retune. Other than that, you shouldn't have any problems unless you are switching nitro content

Run the engine for one whole tank with the new fuel your using, don't just start using it like your normally do with other fuels, different fuel have different mixtures of oil, etc. Your engine should get use to it by the end of a tank, idle a little, run slowly, etc... Richen it up if you need, it will be better, some fuel can have your engine runing cooler than other, but it depends on your plug and all....

why dont you like Top Fuel? i use Trinity but i origionally had Top Fuel and i think it ran better. the reason i dont buy Top Fuel is because my LHS only has it on quarts...

First off I don't like fuel stored in a metal can, second my OS ran like crap on it, as soon as I switched to Trinity it ran like a different engine.

After reading this thread though I think I might give Odonnel a try next time.

just wondering, why is a metal can bad? isnt it so it doesn't catch on fire?

Metal can ..can add rust also absorb water ..meatl will sweat more in temp changes I'm sure theres other reasons

Dang right, like I said. I love Odonnell. I had to richen a tad, but damn, my engine was a helluvalot better with it. Figure that, a traxxas motor running better on a different makers fuel. :D

I use o'donnel in my xxx-nt and I love it my truck will idle all day long I am even going to switch my t-mxx over to o'donnel as soon as i use all of my top fuel.

I dont see why anyone uses top fuel. All i ever hear about it is Crap...crap..crap. I know o'donnel is good but anyone use Blue Thunder. Thats the Best! O ya...run that engine rich for a tank or two then lean it out!

Out here, Blue Thunder is harder to find and a little more expensive. O'Donnell is hard to find, but the LHS I go to stocks them at a really good price. There is a guy who is running a 2.5 tmaxx using, I believe, Top Fuel or Red Line. He ran out of the stuff and asked me if he could have some nitro so that he could keep running with us. As soon as he opened up the throttle, the first words out of his mouth were "Nice fuel!" The next week he had a gallon of O'Donnell.

Now where's my check?

cool guess I'm Going O'Donnel... I know one of My LHS's have it but they only had one gallon left and I'm not so sure about the other one....
