I'm planning on getting a new car within the next few weeks. I've been looking at the HPI Firestorm 10t nitro, but am still not set on it. I'm pretty new to RC but learn fast so i dont want an electric or anything too basic. I've got a budget of about $300. Anyone got any advice on any other cars that might be good for me or any info (good or bad) on the Firestorm?

Have you checked what brand of parts your local hobby shop carries? That should be a major item to look at. It5's no fun having to wait 3-4 days for parts to be shipped to you. You will also have to get some accessories just to get it to run. You will need a glow igniter, a fuel squeeze bottle and batteries for the radio. You will also need fuel and will probably want to get some extra glow plugs.

As far as quality goes, HPI has a good reputation. The electric versions I have seen aren't too bad at all. You may want to save a bit more money and consider something a bit nicer such as a Traxxas T-Maxx or an HPI Savage SS.

I have a few Hobby shops close to my house so I'm sure atleast one off them will have parts for whatever i get.

For the past month or so i've been trying to fix up my brothers old Team Associated truck but that isn't really working out so I decided to just get a new car, so i have a glow igniter, fuel squeeze bottle, and an extra glow plug. Thanks for the advice, I'll think about waiting till i have a little bit of money, but I dont have anything to play around with right now so i doubt ill wait
