i hate this glow charger... its a dynamite.. and i can't stand it is there a way i can use like a big battery and clamps or somethin that more power with out recharging just replacing batteries.??! please help

several companies make glow inighters that use "D" cell batteries. once its dead you just put in a new one. is that what you are asking?

ya, u can get a whole variety of glow inighters. there are some that run off of "c" cell batteries ( i have 2 of them) and then like Paintbug said there are "d" ones also.

This is the setup "I" use. I got the tip from a couple of guys here on the board and am extremely happy with the desicion.

I have used a "D" cell ignighter but after switching to this setup I have never had to worry again about whether there was enough juice left in the battery to light the glow plug. I still keep the D-Cell igniter as a backup or when I flame out or die out in the field or no-where near my pit area. I've been using this for about 5 months now and about 1.5 gallons of fuel. Still has plenty of juice left. Prolly last till next summer.

hey thanks you guys.. but robriguez hit it on the nose that battery set up was wha i was lookin for.. thank you

robriguez That is what i use it has lasted a long time. I think every one should use one if they have a roto start or something like that. Who carrys there roto start to there car? not me. As for everyone else what robriguez said is a geart setup if you do get it snip the 2 ends on the wire and wrap it around the battery.

Well, what "I" did was to cut the bananna plugs off the end of the wires. Pick up some Alligator Clips from Radio Shack and crimp to the end of the wires.

This way all I have to do is to clip the ends of the wires to the two posts on the top of the battery and I'm good to go. When I'm done for the day I unclip, put the two caps back on the posts, and put everything back into my tool box. This way I dont have to worry about wrapping and unwrapping wires on the posts. I dont have to worry about it sorting out in my tool box. I can quickly set up and break down.
