Well for starters, they can pull their heads out of their butts. I ordered some parts from Horizon on Monday. Here's what the shipping info says as of right now (Friday afternoon).
Date Description Location
Mar 18 2011 Received at UPS Mail Innovations Destination RPF Mendota Heights, MN
Mar 16 2011 Transferred to UPS Mail Innovations Destination RPF Mendota Heights, MN
Mar 16 2011 Processed at UPS Mail Innovations Origin RPF Carol Stream, IL
Mar 15 2011 Received at UPS Mail Innovations Origin RPF Carol Stream, IL
Mar 15 2011 Mail Retrieved From Shipper

For the record, UPS, I LIVE IN WISCONSIN! You know, just NORTH OF ILLINOIS!

When ever I am shopping online, I check to see who they ship through, if its UPS, I rarely buy from them. Good luck with them pulling their heads out!

It's just the way their network is setup.

When I go to work I generally drive 1.5 miles east so I can go 16 miles west because it's faster than going 14.5 miles west directly. I'm just estimating numbers here but you get the idea.

But I feel your annoyance. USPS misroutd a Priority Mail package to western ohio. I got it today but I probably should have gotten it Wed., definately Thurs. So I paid for Priority why???? Thanks USPS.. for wasting my $5.99 when I could have used AMains free super saver shipping and probably got it tomorrow.

$4.99 to ship via postal, and Horizon Hobbies plan was to send it via UPS Mail Innovations, which has to hand it off to USPS anyway. I called UPS, and asked what was the logic behind shipping it from IL to MN, when it has to go to WI. She said "I didn't design the system".

Screw UPS. I'll give em brown.

Yeah, it's just where to processing station is for your region as Lessen stated. For example, all my mail travels an hour + east of me, only to turn around and come right back since the main hub is in AVL.

Also, I've had really good luck with both UPS and USPS. But, if all a vendor offers is FedEx, I refuse to buy from them. FedEx is by far the worst managed shipping company around.

Yes, but both UPS and USPS have processing facilities in Oak Creek, WI!

Doesn't matter I guess. I notified UPS and Horizon Hobby of my displeasure, and that I would no longer be using their services.

Too bad though, I ordered two pinions and a sway bar kit on Monday, figuring I would have them in by the time I needed to race on Saturday. Now it looks like I won't even have them to race on Sunday!

I feel your pain alien. I ordered a bigger battery for the Baja on the 2nd, it didn't show up till the 16th. I feel like I live in that town from O Brother Where Art Thou. You can get anything you want, in about two weeks. :D

It's stupid how all the carriers route things. I can mail a letter across town(Joplin,MO) and it gets sent to Springfield(75 miles away)first. I've bought items from KC,MO and it gets sent to DeMoine, IA first.

The worst shipping experience I ever had was an overnight express that was guaranteed to be at my door by 10 a.m. I got it a week later after I drove 45 miles to the DHL terminal. All I can say is Screw DHL!

Sent Horizon Hobby an email on Friday, with the order number, asking how this crap even happens. Here's the reply I got today:

Good day Mr. Schmidt,
I apologize that your order did not arrive as you expected, the shipment method chosen was via post office and it does take a few days depending on where the Post office decides to route the mail.
I am issuing you a credit of $4.99 for you wait and your items are shown to be arriving today.
Please email and let me know if you have any further questions, again, I apologize for this inconvenience.

Thanks

Their choice of shippers sucks, but their customer service still rocks.
