I have been out of the RC world for quite a few years. I have an old Traxxas Villian IV boat that I had when I was a kid. I would like to get it up and running but no longer have batteries nor a charger. I have two EpiC 19x1 Outlaw motors in the boat. Could someone help remind me what I could use for batteries for this setup? Not sure whats out there for new technology since this thing has been in storage!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have a rc-hydros ESC in the boat. (see photo). Can someone tell me if i can run two 7.4v 2s LiPo Batteries with this and the motor setup?

According to whats stamped on the back you can run up to 16.8V which means you could use up to a 4S lipo. That being said I doubt that ESC was made to run LiPo so theres probably no Low Voltage Cutoff that you can program in to make sure you dont over discharge your lipos but you could always buy a programmable Low Voltage Alarm and use that so you know when the LiPos need to be swapped out. Youll have to run the boat close enough periodically to hear the alarm but those things are fairly loud and shrill so you shouldnt have to get it too close.

Perfect thanks. I just got a couple 7.4 2S's for an old Emaxx so ill run those with low voltage alarms.
